Navigation menu popup is misplaced

spent some time today digging into this problem.
Usually x-position of md-menus can be simply set with parameter { before / after } to set whether it should appear on the left or on the right of the opening button. "the left" in our setting unfortunately appeared to be not aligned with the button. This is due to the fact that the menu is considered an overlay and the overlay style in our project is defined by assets\sass\material\-overlay.sass

removing this file or its content solved the problem for me, but I am pretty sure there must be a cleaner way. I assume there will be some side effect on our overlay component used for event-detail-view. But due to some dependiency problems I wasn't able to regression test it yet.
