Hidden Chat Application

This application allows users to engage in chat rooms with options for both public and private conversations. It utilizes WebSockets for real-time communication and Express for the server setup.

How to Run the Application

Prerequisites

• Node.js installed on your system.
• Basic knowledge of terminal or command prompt usage.

Setup and Installation

1. Clone the repository

git clone

2. Navigate to the project directory

cd hidden-chat-app

3. Install dependencies

npm install

4. Start the server

node server.js

This command launches the server on localhost with the default port 3000.

5. Access the application

Open a web browser and visit http://localhost:3000. You should see the Hidden Chat application's landing page.

Using the Application

• Start Chatting: Input your desired room ID and username, then click "Start Chat" to join a chat room.
• Sending Messages: Type your message in the input field and click "Send" or press Enter to send your message.
• Stop Chatting: Click "Stop Chat" to leave the chat room.
• Delete a Message: Click the "Delete" button next to your message to delete it.
• View Active Chat Rooms: Press "Refresh Rooms List & User" to view the list of active chat rooms.
