You mean actually exposing the transient and persistent! and related update fns right?

Yes, that’s right. Transients have always been a great idea, and would be useful in isolated places where persistent data structures would allocate too many objects, especially in applications such as games that are sensitive to garbage collection.

I'm all for supporting transients but there is a question around naming, in Clojure and ClojureScript we can use the bang i.e. conj!. I'm not sure what we should do with the JS names to indicate their usage.

I suppose options include copying Clojure’s _BANG suffix, or using a simpler _ suffix (though this may clash with adapting any future ClojureScript names that end with -). Maybe _B would be a better compromise.

I think mutable might be good for getting the transient version of a data structure. I wonder if these operations shouldn't be provided in a different namespace, mori.mutable, then we could just reuse the names?

We now have a mori.mutable namespace. transient is thaw, persistent is freeze. The modification operations are simply their names minus the bang.
