Prettier config

  • How to save my preferred prettier config
  • How to automatically add prettier config to vs code and new projects

Conditional global npm installs

Currently on install we run all the global npm install commands in the setup_node.zsh file. Is there a way to figure out if they are already installed (for example with exists()) and run conditionally? Do we need to do this or does npm already take care of this?

How do we add node?

NVM is already added to the brewfile, now how do we automate downloading the latest stable node version?
is it a good idea to do so everytime dotfiles are installed? (unexpected change of the node version)

Syntax highlighting

We are missing syntax highlighting with the non-dot version of zshrc with bat

Fresh install failed

Fresh install on a new macOS failed because the install Homebrew command did not work properly. Upon running the setup_homebrew file manually ./setup_homebrew.zsh it worked.
Investigate possible reasons and solutions

Different installs for work/personal machines

There are some config files that are specific to a work machine or a personal machine. For example the work machine might have a bigger set of apps and software to install. How can I create different setups and install the one I want?
