The Synthesia Metadata Editor is a PC/Mac desktop application that can generate and edit fully-compliant Synthesia metadata (.synthesia) files.

The editing capabilities expose all of the available functionality of the Synthesia metadata file format including simple content tags, background images, finger hints, and more as the standard develops.

Requires .NET 4.8 on Windows.

On macOS Sierra, the app immediately closes

I installed Mono and tried opening a dotnet window and GTK window as a test and that works.

Synthesia Metadata Editor closes when launched even though I right-clicked it and pressed the open button (to get passed gate keeper). The icon immediately closes.

Is there a way to make it work? Thank you.

The Mac Version Does Not Work

I Tried Using The Mac Metadata Editor But Only Folders With No Files Came

i have in Synthesia the proble tha i do not see the buttons on the right up. What can i do too see them?

Embed MIDI file into a .synthesia

Hello,

According to the documentation, the .synthesia metadata file "must either be in one of the folders scanned by Synthesia or in the same directory as the song you're playing".

But it would be great to have all information needed by Synthesia in a single file only, including MIDI data. Is it something planned in the future ?

Cursor skips to the end of the text for Fingering

I'm editing Fingering information in the "Fingers" field.

Let's assume I have "t1: 1--45".
Now I Set the cursor right after the 1 and delete the -. The dash is deleted but the cursor skips to the very end of the text. This makes editing an existing text impossible.

The same applies for the "Parts" field.
