catbox-code's Issues

api.dart Firestore.instance.snapshots missing () method brackets. L05S08

Hi Nathan,

I ran the code that you have in L05S08 but kept getting
Error: The method 'listen' isn't defined for the class
api.dart line 47.

Only when i changed .snapshots to .snapshots() did the error with the next line and .listen disappear.

None of the code that you have written after this, and including catbox-master, has the brackets. I wonder if the package upgrades caused this to happen and that they are being more strict with the code.

This is only a suggestion, Nathan, and you may find that it is not necessary but my code will not compile without this adjustment.

dependency upgrade needed here and in .pdf literature

Hi Nathan,

Plugin needs an upgrade to run as the dart SDK has advanced. You will have to warn programmers to upgrade dependencies periodically.

Doing your course on udemy and its going fine so i thought I'd let you know here instead of through their website.

I moved up from the Beta channel to the Main a few weeks ago.

Run as "6.0.0" as you have in the docs I get this error:

Running "flutter packages get" in catbox...
The current Dart SDK version is 2.1.0-dev.4.0.flutter-05ccfa8502.

Because catbox depends on font_awesome_flutter >=4.7.1 <8.0.0 which requires SDK version <2.0.0, version solving failed.
pub get failed (1)
Process finished with exit code 1

Then when I upgrade to "8.0.1" everything runs fine.

This is for the .yaml file and the .pdf text for L04S14.
