Option to run as service

If you add this option into main interface, once the option is activated, the calculator would be continually display at the notification area after it was enabled.

Clear the display field automatically for new equation input.

Standard functionality of calculators -- universally, AFAIK -- allows a new equation to be input after solving the one before it without having to manually clear the field. Upon displaying the answer to equation #1, user can typically just start typing equation #2 and the answer from #1 is automatically cleared upon pressing the first input button.

Obv, this allows for a faster workflow as multiple equations can be solved in rapid succession.

Inclusion in F-Droid

Hi,

Since this app is Apache v2 licensed, are you considering the fact to add it to F-Droid? There is a strong community behind, that do not use Google Play nor anything else, except F-Droid.

You can find some documentation here.

Otherwise, if you don't want to work on the inclusion of this app by yourself, would it be ok for you if someone else do it for you?

Lone press tile to open Notification settings

Currently long press the Calculator tile would open app information, press the app icon from the launcher can open Notification settings. If you add support to activate Notification settings by long press the tile as well, the app would give more conveniences to users.

Adopt Material You Design

It would be awesome to modify the interface to adapt Material You Design.

Notification deleted

The notification gets deleted after about 10mins probably because of background restriction.
A notification that works with staying there all the time is the "Listening for notifications" of Element from @vector-im

Use vectored icon on Calculator tile

If you replace the icon on the Calculator tile button by vectorised image, the icon won’t be blurred on some HiDPI devices.

stops working on Oreo after a while

Calculator notification stops working after some time. It's still shown in notification but all button presses are not recognized. Stopping and restarting makes it work again for some time. Tested with Oreo 8.0 and 8.1. Maybe this is an issue with the Background Execution Limits on Android Oreo.

Allow for leading with a decimal point

Highly underrated app, IMO. Thank you, first and foremost.

Suggestion:
Eliminate the required, leading numeral and allow a typed equation to start with a decimal.

For example:
0.15 + .25 ...works fine.
.15 + .25 ...does not. The app will not allow the decimal point typed first.

This is seemingly of small importance, I know. But perhaps it would be just as trivial a fix? I use the app for dozens of BTC calculations on a daily basis and most of my equations start with fractions.

Allow additional functions in expanded view

The limited function set in collapsed view is understandable. There sinply isn't enough space. Expanded voew however could fit more functions to make the calculator a more complete tool.

Please add some screenshots showing the main application window and settings screens to your application page in the F-Droid directory.

Add Get It on F-Droid badge

Since your app available on F-Droid as well, it’s reasonable to add the “Get It on F-Droid” badge on README.md, following instructions from their GitLab repository. And I suggest to host this badge on your website.

A Google Play app stole your source code

I discovered Google Play have Notification Calculator 2021 is a direct copy of your app, but just renamed and replaced icon, it doesn’t mention any license.

Interface is truncated while the notification is folded

I used a Samsung device. While the app is enabled, the interface looks “embedded” in the notification and truncated at the the first time, after I extended the notification, the interface is fully present in there. The black one is Menu Button.

Update main interface

It would be awesome if you rewrite the main interface to fit the brand new Material You design.

Quick settings tile does nothing

Idk how this is not reported when there are other tile related issues already open. Maybe it doesn't work just on my device
