applet not passing cookies with post data
I attempted to pass post data to a page that requires authentication and
post data will not pass. If I disable authentication post data passes fine.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to make it pass the cookie?
I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to authentication mechanisms... :(

Request: Resizing but no compression
For my app i'd like the functionality of the image upload policy ( showing
thumbnails / resizing ). However i need to extract keywords from the
file-source.
After reading i've found out that the UploadPolicy "image" also adds
compression. Is there already a way to turn this off? If not how can i make
this possible.
Ps. Love the uploader
ps2. Is this wonderfull project still active?

Hi, first of all.. thanx for this cool stuff... just wondering if is it
possible to add a button that will create a new
folder(subcattegory/subfolder) for the destination of your files to be
uploaded in gallery folder (main directory). coz i want to use this as an
uploader, then i am using a image gallery that loads images in subfolder of
galleries and its automatically updating itself.
hope you get my point/idea

upload problem - connected with file size

Selected file (jpg, 4 MB) hasn't been uploaded.

Session Issues
Hello there
I have installed (sucessfully) this project. Unfortunatly when i use the
session option it destroys my session with the website.
The code i use is:

Unable to view image preview if the size is more than 400kb

Height of applet is not properly expanding
First, AWESOME APP!!! Thank you sooo much!
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Loading the applet in an AJAX div dynamically, css positions of div absolute
2. set height in the object attributes for applet
3. the overall applet responds correctly and the height of the frame is right
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The frame that is created should be filled not only in width, but in
height. I get the proper expansion in width, but the applet frames (with
directories and folders) are only about 2/3 of the height. There is a lot
of white space below the UPLOAD button on the first page.
When uploading page comes, the page properly expands and fills the height
from top to bottom.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.03 - Win 7x64 and x32, FF, IE, Chrome and Opera
Please provide any additional information below.
It worked before and sometimes it started this way and then for some reason
would expand. Don't know if the applet has any sensitivities to CSS or
other strings that could be passed without knowing.
I've reset the height to lots of variations, and each time in each browser
and system, the internal layout does not expand to the full height.

I want it to start on the desktop, but it starts with 2 folders: The user
profile "/Users/username" and the root folder "/".

I'd say the best is to just let it select the desktop folder on start and
let the folder hierarchy stay the same. The default desktop folder on mac
is "/Users/username/Desktop".

Feature Request : upload original file instead of compressing and uploading
Hi
I've been playing around with the script and reading the documentation and wiki
for a while and I
don't think this is possible. So correct me if I'm wrong and this is already
there!
I thought it might be good to give the option to upload the original image file
and hence provide
the possibility to interact with it on the server side.
Might be just me, but for some projects it might be nice to have the original
file as well as the
smaller compressed file and thumbnails.

If I click on the symbols at the left of 'My computer' instead of
double-clicking it, everything works fine.
Suggestion: You could change the symbol at the right of folders for + and -
signs in square boxes as Windows users are used to theses!

Feature request: Added JS calls for when uploads finish
I'd like the java applet to call e.g. the relocate function with a
different value for the action parameter when the files have finished
uploaded. I'd like to implement a reaction in JS as soon as all files have
been uploaded.
I'd also like to know the return values of the uploads. This could be
implemented as an array to the above mentioned call to the relocate
function or even better, a new call to the relocate function for every
upload, so i can stop the next uploads if e.g. it's failing because the
user's not logged in anymore.

Files Not Being copied by PHP Script

I can not get the images to copy over to the source directory. To insure

Not working in Mac OSX
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a page with the applet
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected the applet.
The status bar in firefox says "error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
javax/swing/GroupLayout$Group."
Safari gives "Applet Java Uploader notinited", also in the status bar and
shows a red cross icon on a white background instead of the applet.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
This happens on any mac and any browser as far as i know. Tested OSX 10.4
and 10.5 with both firefox and safari.
Please provide any additional information below.
It seems that this is because mac uses java 1.5 and javauploader uses the
swing library, which was introduced to java 1.6. Sun doesn't provide mac
versions of java and apple only provides a 64-bit version for OSX 10.5,
which apparently doesn't run in the browsers, cause they're all 32-bit.
The only solution i see, is to not rely on swing or embed the library in
the jar files.
Please look into implementing either solution as this applet seems really
useful and i need to support OSX. Thanks for an otherwise great product.

picture). Instead, it is not possible to upload again and we need to refresh
the page if we want to go back to the first page.

Pictures not written in destination. No error shown in Java Console

2. Select your images
3. Upload
4. Look at Java Console and you will see this

you will not see it. And no error is thrown in Firebug nor in Java Console

The expected output would be to see the image in the

has the necessary privileges.

1. Reject the certificate when asked to trust it
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Either an uploader that doesn't require trusting the applet. So without all
of the fancy stuff, just a simple multi-file selection dialog, like the one
in swfupload. Or at least a call to a JS function so we can create our own
fallback uploader. Or at best both. :)
Right now (on win/chrome) it shows the desktop icon, but not any files or
directories.

JS callback to the relocate function not working on mac
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Upload a file
2. Click continue or upload again
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The buttons are clickable and behave as normal buttons, but the JS callback
function isn't run. The callback for denying the applet works in
OSX10.4/firefox3, but not in OSX10.4/safari3. Even though the deny applet
callback works in firefox, it crashes the browser with the alert open that
i opened in the callback for testing it.

Works on OSX 10.5 with firefox 3, but not on the same OSX 10.5 in safari 3

Peega version doesn't work for me
I tried Peega to see a demo but the uploader gets stuck with the
initialization progress bar at 100%.

Hosted binaries
Issue:
If we all sign our own applets and put them on our own sites, people would
have to trust each our sites for the same applet.
Suggestion:
In order to build up trust in the applet and the sites they're used on, i
suggest the needed binaries be hosted e.g. on the svn. If it's hosted on
the svn, we can just refer directly to it, like this:
http://javauploader.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/JavaUploader/src/com/pegaa/uploader
/UploaderApplet.java
Or to a certain svn revision:
http://javauploader.googlecode.com/svn-history/r85/trunk/JavaUploader/src/com/pe

Or it could even just be on the downloads section. As long as it's possible
to refer directly to a version signed and maintained by the project, which
is reusable on different sites. So also not having to trust the same applet
on 2 different sites.

unable to access session vars in upload script

I cannot seem to access any PHP session var in the upload.php script it
calls to process each picture.
I call the PHP session var as a param echo "<param name=\"sessionString\"
value=\"PHPSESSID=".session_id()."\">\n"; echo "<param
name=\"uploadHandlerUrl\" value=\"http://www.domain.com/upload.php\">\n";
in the upload.php, i have tried with and without session_start() with no luck.
any ideas?

How to auto refresh the upload page when done uploading files?
First, thank you for a great java uploader and it is working wonderfully.
Now, I want to know if it is possible to auto refresh the upload page after the
selected images have been successfully uploaded. Right now it only allows that
upon clicking on the Continue or Upload Again buttons.
I am using this javauploader with PHP so I tried to use the header redirect on
the upload.php file however, since the uploader calls upload.php seperately for
each selected image I cannot get the array length as it is always one. Thus I
cannot find out what image is the last one and when to redirect back to the
upload page.

$_FILES array is empty when trying to move the files.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Uploading any number of files

When I print the $_FILES array I expect it to be populated with teh file
data, however the array is blank.

V.1.1 on Windows server 2003 with IIS PHP 5

Note sure how to tell if the files have been uploaded prior to running teh

exif data stripped from image
Does <param name="UploadPolicy" value="image-with-exif"> imply that the
exif data from the original image should remain in tact after the upload? I
am seeing the uploaded images having no exif data once they have been uploaded.
