Electron application that allows you to select an image and easily change the width and/or height. This is my recreation from this tutorial from Traversty Media
Features :
- Resize images to any sizes
Tech Stacks:
- Electron
- Bulma.css
- HTML, JS (Web Development)
Install :
npm install
Run :
npm start
- ipcRenderer keeps getting included in renderer.js causing some problems.
- Resolved by contextIsolation
- This is because for electron (There is contextIsolation that prevents calling function that is in main channel directly), so you need to load the require modules from preload.js then calling in on renderer.js
- Electron version 25 or above, has an issue where devTools cannot be opened at all
-
Workaround, using previous version of electron, ie. "^20.2.0",
"electron": "^20.2.0", "resize-img": "^2.0.0", "toastify-js": "^1.12.0"
-
- [Done] Packaging it so that it can be distributed to other users to use
- There are multiple ways to package Electron apps. I would suggest Electron Forge. I did not implement any packaging into this app.
- [Done] Adding a “Select folder” to customise the location of the resised images
- Create a production and development environment (Learn about Electron)
