Ive just purchased another usb and still having no joy. "uploading EEPROM reader firmware" I get an upload failed message on Com3 which according to device manager is correct. Com 1 fails as well. When I "check for a new version" in the setup it connects fine and finds no updates however. strange.

Are you using a USB Hub or is it plugged directly in?
Have you plugged in the power supply to AstroEQ?
Could you send me a screenshot of the config utility when it comes up with 'failed'.

(p.s. The status LED won't light until EQMOD is communicating with AstroEQ, so don't worry about that).

Theres a screen shot. The power supply is plugged in and I am connecting directly to a PC. Ive tried all 6 USB ports and 2 spare cables. Com 3 s definitely the 1 as if I try and run the setup without the usb it disappears from the AstroEQ setup drop down menu and the device manager.

Try this:
Load the Setup utility, select the com port.
Now unplug the power cable to AstroEQ (not the USB) and plug it back in.
Then click next.
Does it upload the firmware, or does it fail again?

OK....Ive just repeated that procedure four times and on the 5th time it uploaded!

Hum. It seems for some reason that avrdude is failing to reset the processor just before upload. This shouldn't however stop you using AstroEQ with EQMOD as once programmed, AstroEQ will quite happily sit there waiting for EQMOD when you plug in the power.

All is working fine now anyway Tom. If this happens again I will unplug the power and plug back in again and see if it fixes it.
