moonlight-retropie's Issues

Can't stream local PC game

I have many "local" games in my nvidia GameStream library and these are not available. Any way I can get them to show and launch?

Can't connect to steam computer

When running the script, after putting the IP address of the steam computer on the RetroPie computers Moonlight install script I get an error message that says sudo: moonlight: command not found. How do I fix this.

Error getting the script

I get this when I try to get the script:

pi@retropie:/opt/retropie/configs/moonlight $ wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/TechWizTime/moonlight-retropie/master/moonlight.sh
--2017-03-03 17:06:11-- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/TechWizTime/moonlight-retropie/master/moonlight.sh

Am I forgetting something?

Invalid Number

After calling sudo ./moonlight.sh, the script starts and shows "Make sure you have done the following", press anykey to continue, pressing any key will show the Main Menu but also end the script throwing "INVALID NUMBER!" regardless of what key has been pressed, even pressing numbers 1 - 6 will end the script with "INVALID NUMBER!"

I am trying to run this script on a Raspberry Pi 3 using RetroPie 4.3.1

No controller input into Steam BP after launch

Hello,

I have RetroPie 4.4 on a RPi3B installed and got Moonlight setup and paired with my PC. I have a Chinese XBox controller receiver and a Xbox 360 controller hooked up to the Pi. Steam BP launches fine but then I cannot navigate through the menus - absolutely no input goes through. The controller works fine on the Pi and is detected by Moonlight. I suspect this is not the common mapping issue, since no input is passed through to the PC at all.

GFE version: 3.14.1.48

Thank you,

Streams on PC but exits to EmulationStation on Pi

Not sure how to access any log file:

  1. Install of TechWizTime script seemed to complete perfectly.
  2. After reboot, Steam menu in emulationstation gives four display options
  3. all options start streaming and PC goes to Big Picture mode as streaming. However, Pi just kicks back to emulationstation menu. Exiting from there I can see the following (omitting Initializing and Cleaning up...):

...
Starting input stream...done
Control stream received disconnect event
Loss Stats: Transaction failed: 11
Stopping input stream...done

What is the expected result?
Controller should be working without extra configuration using Libretro however,
Controller should be mapped correctly adding this code in gamecontrollerdb.txt from output of evtest:

03000000790000000018000011010000,HJZ Mayflash WiiU Pro Game Controller Adapter,a:b290,b:b289,back:b296,dpdown:b17,dpleft:b16,dpright:b16,dpup:b17,guide:b8,leftshoulder:b292,leftstick:b298,lefttrigger:a294,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,rightshoulder:b293,rightstick:b299,righttrigger:a295,rightx:a2,righty:a5,start:b297,x:b291,y:b288,platform:Linux,

What happens instead of that?
Unable to use either moonlight map or gamecontrollerdb.txt to solve. When entering the stream buttons behave as the following:

X button on controller is Y in moonlight
Y button on controller is A in moonlight
A button on controller is X in moonlight
B button on controller is B in game, but A in steam big picture (weird)
Left trigger on controller behaves as select
Right trigger on controller behaves as start
Left and Right Bumper are working correctly
Left Thumbstick is working correctly
Right thumbstick click does not work but left/right behaves as left trigger, up/down works correctly
Dpad works in game but not on big picture menu
Did quite a bit of research on this but still cannot figure it out, it was said in other forums that because this moonlight-embedded does not read config from libretro it causes issues. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Problems with controller mapping

I use a Xbox 360 Controller and it works some way, but it does not work right. For example, when I press the right trigger, it takes it as start button.

I hope someone can help me with my problem, looking forward to hearing from you!

Feature Request: Custom Resolution

Feature Request

Would be possible add an option in the Script Menu to manually set a Custom Resolution?

I've run the script on a RPi hooked up to a Consumer CRT through composite cable, and it works! BUT the image, as expected for sure, is in a wide fashion and black bars show up above and below, wasting precious usable space to play the Retro-Like-Steam-Games =)

That could help out not only crazy ones with Bulky CRTs but also everyone else using all kinds of monitors with varied resolutions out there.

Note: I've tried the 480p settings, but somehow the 720p and 1080p works (the RPi may convert the entire screen to it's standard composite output, scaling down) and the 480p returns: "Device do not support that resolution"

Hide logging info.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your script! It works well but I’d like to hide the extra line of console logging on the top of the screen during gameplay, please let me know if it’s possible.

Regards,
C

Controller Layout

Some reason this messes up my controller. Most of the buttons stop working, left and right are on up and down etc.

Controller: XBox 360 Wireless

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Start A failed: 11

it no longer works due to gamestream updates. will only spit this out now.

Trouble with installing moonlight-embedded and How to fix it.

In phase 3 of the installer script i got the following error
moonlight-embedded : Depends: libssl1.0.0 (>= 1.0.0) but it is not installable

I fixed it by doing the following from this reddit thread.

add the following line to /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian jessie main
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libssl1.0.0
rerun the moonlight script you provide

Pairing worked, but games not streaming

I am running Gamestream on a Windows 10 VM. I can play games streamed to my IOS devices, but cannot get Moonlight to work on Retropie.

I have Retropie 4.3 installed on a Raspberry 2 connected via LAN to the same network my Windows 10 VM is connected to. The Moonlight-Retropie script installed well without any error messages. Pairing worked. When selecting "Stream" on Retropie, I get a list allowing me to select the resolution. After selecting 720p-30fps, the screen turns dark for 1-2sec and then is back to the selection screen. It shows something like "^@^@" on the top left of the screen during these 1-2sec.

Is there some form of log that I can provide? Or any additional information?

I really like the idea of running PC games from a Raspberry, so would love to find a way to make this work. It feels close as things work with the Moonlight IOS app and Moonlight@Retropie successfully paired. Any thoughts what I am missing to make this work for me?
