Error message

Hi Thomas,

still receive an error message when starting the desklet (partially in German):

Fehler: Empfang von Autorisierungs-Crumb ist fehlgeschlagen! Finanzdaten-Abfrage nicht möglich.
Status: 429 Too many Requests

Seems, that the update from August did not work for me. Do you have any idea how to solve the problem?

Faulty Symbol Is Blocking Display in Desklet

An incorrect symbol in the list of quote symbols is probably causing the data to be retrieved incorrectly. I now get the "Error: Yahoo Finance service not available! Status: 0 null" message and no financial data are displayed. I removed a symbol and the display works again.

Can anyone verify that this is the cause of the error? Maybe you can test it with "GOUG.DE" (no real symbol).

The actual behaviour makes it difficult for me to find the error. Is it possible that a line with a note about the error appears when there is an incorrect symbol? It can happen from time to time that a symbol changes or is removed (e.g. delisting).

BTW: Great work.

enhancement request

Allow a field in the configuration for amount for each stock. (IE the number of shares you own),
display as it is, plus another column showing the value.

Really like this project.

Improper horizontal alignment of name column

If web link is added to name, then the label is no longer horizontally aligned with the other columns but is a tad too low.

"Show vertical scrollbar" should be activated by default

The new feature to enable or disable the vertical scroll bar came with version 0.11.0 on March 15, 2024 and was disabled by default. This causes the stock list to flow across the desklet until the user activates the vertical scroll bar. I think it would be useful for most users if vertical scrollbar was enabled by default.

Freezes Linux Mint cinnamon while updating during internet outage

If the app tries to update the data during an internet outage my entire cinnamon Linux mint desktop freezes for several minutes. It seems to hog all the computer resources or something - this can also cause other programs to crash, loss of productive work, etc. I love the application but this bug makes it unusable.

Stopped working for me both in Linux Mint 21.2 and LMDE 5

The desklet displays the message "Error: Yahoo Finance service not available!" both in Linux Mint 21.2 and LMDE 5.

This happened a while back, but an update came through that fixed it. The problem has re-appeared, though.
