localization-l10n's Introduction

Avada Translations

In this repository, you can find translations for all components of the Avada Website Builder products, and contribute translations for your language.

Who maintains this repository

Our translations are community-driven. Anyone can contribute translations for their own language. This repository hosts both the translation files and our Translations-API, so translation file updates are automatically distributed to all sites.

You can find a list of contributors on this page.

How to Contribute

If you find that some strings are not translated for your language, you can use software like Poedit which is free and cross-platform to translate them, and then submit your updated files so we can include them.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you are using the latest files for your locale before you start translating them.

You can find instructions on how to fork the repository and contribute back in this GitHub guide.

If you are not comfortable using GitHub for your translations you can also submit them by sending an email to our support team, and we will submit the updated translations for you > [email protected]

There is no need to submit .mo or .zip files, we automatically generate these after your translations are merged. The only thing that should be included in your pull request is an updated .po file for your locale.

Review Process

Once you submit your translations, our team will check your translations and after they pass our inspection they will get merged. While we can not check the correctness of submitted translations for all locales, we check for abusive language and malintent such as spam links. If a member of our team is a native speaker of the submitted language then we also conduct a second check for the correctness of the submitted translations. We urge you to be patient. The above checks can take from a few hours to a few days depending on the locale and number of translated strings.

localization-l10n's Issues

Possible API problem

I have kept my eye on this new translation update process, but without comprehension of inner workings of API I really can't pinpoint the problem. Here's what I have noticed and the steps that I have taken.
Currently I'm working on three sites. Two of them are running WP 4.9.12 + Avada 6.1.1 and one site is under maintenance using only barebone demo content with WP 5.2.4. + Avada 6.1.1.
I always do my theme updates via FTP, and transitions from 5.9 to 6.0 to 6.1 went smoothly, and during those updates WP prompted me about new Avada translations as it should. (edit. all the sites are located on the same webhost account)

The interesting part happens (or actually does not happen) between theme updates. Since I have been working on the translations for the past few weeks, and I know when to expect an update, I have noticed that I do not receive any translation updates or notifications of possible updates. And yes, I have enabled the update option in 6.1 and all patches are applied.
The only way I can make the update notification to appear is to first delete the old .po and .mo files via FTP. Then the update prompt appears instantly.

This is really not a problem for me since I prefer to do all my updates manually, but there might be some underlying issue.

Security concern: translator emails are publicly visible from this repository.

A user complained that they get spammed because their email is visible in our translation files and requested that we remove their email address.

email addresses are added by poEdit when the user translates the file, and then if they submit the translation file without deleting it themselves the email is automatically merged.
However a couple of years ago we were using transifex so a few email addresses are still included in the translation files from that time.

In the future if a translator doesn't want their email to be publicly available then ideally they would just delete their email from the .po file before submitting it to this repository.

We should go through all translation files and remove all translator emails references.

Info

Hi,

I'm translating the theme and the plugins into Italian.
How do I upload the files and where? How does it work?

Thank you!

Marco

Fusion-builder files are not translated

Hello,
I need to translate the fusion builder in french but the files are not translated and it seems to be the same for the other languages, all is always in english...
Can you help me ?

String not translatable

"Like This Post? Share It With Others!" displayed in the social sharer on posts and portfolios is not translatable since it does not appear in the avada.pot file.

Poedit

I was wondering why can't I open any of po files in the latest poedit?
It says the file is not valid or corrupted po file.
It seems like they are working just fine when uploaded on the server but I need to edit them further.

String not taken into account in Avada/Avada-fr_FR.po file

Hi,

It seems this sentence is not taken into account in Avada / Woocommerce:
image

Concerned file: Avada/Avada-fr_FR.po / mo

The english sentence remains on my website even though the other sentences are well translated.
I've added the very last file to be sure, and it is still the same...
It happened with at least previous and last version of Woocommerce, last version ov Avada

Moreover, the second string is not correctly translated:
please change:
msgstr[1] "Vous avez %d article dans votre panier"
to
msgstr[1] "Vous avez %d articles dans votre panier"

(for when it will work ;-) )

Thanks

The zh_CH doesn't work.

I tried to apply the translation into Avada 5.2.1, but it failed.

Tried many ways...Including change the strore files and review the theme files...

Finally, I updated those files into the Avada theme files, and it work.
zh_CN.mo
zh_CN.po
I don't know where are the problems. However, it seems that the files in here are wrong.

Not a valid po and pot file

Hello,

i've downloaded po file for de_DE. Poedit reported the file as corrupted, can't open it at all. Same happened to Avada.pot file. I uploaded .po and .mo files to languages/themes folder, but translations are not loading at all, even though i selected proper language in WP backend.

Is there some issue with these language files or am i doing something worng?

Regards

Missing french translation for fusion-builder

Hello to all!

I've noticed that the "load more posts" translations in french are notre present in both fusion-builder-fr_FR and fusion-builder-fr_CA.

Here what's supposed to be at line 400 and 401:

msgid "Load More Posts"
msgstr "Charger plus d’articles"

Thanks

Language string not getting translated

Hello,

We took over a Wordpress site with Woocommerce and Avada for a customer, and they had an issue with certain texts not getting translated to Dutch.
After finding out that there wasn't a language file for Avada yet, I used the one from this repository but there seems to be one string that doesn't get translated:

`#: includes/class-avada-woocommerce.php:1175
#. translators: Number.

msgid "You Have %d Item In Your Cart"
msgid_plural "You Have %s Items In Your Cart"
msgstr[0] "Je hebt %d artikel in je winkelmandje"
msgstr[1] "Je hebt %d artikelen in je winkelmandje"
`

although it is in the .po file.
Next I tried recompiling the .mo file again but that gave no different results.
After this I tried the files for different languages (german, and french), but in those languages the string isn't getting translated either.
Finally I checked the php file, and the msgid seems to match the one in the language file.

So I'm not really sure what the issue can be, maybe something went wrong with the conversion to the .mo file?

Any help is appreciated

Title of theme mistranslated

It seems there is something wrong with the translation of the title of the theme. On my site (with Swedish translation), it says the name of the theme is "Inaktivera Avadas stilar för Revolution Slider" rather than "Avada".

Invalid .po files for nb_NO

Hello!

When downloading the nb_NO files, i can't open them in POEditor or Loco Translate-plugin. I get an invalid PO-file error in both places. The translation is thus not working on my site.

I don't have experience in this, so my hope is that someone here maybe knows what is happening?

Swedish translation of Avada

Here is a better translation of Avada 6.1 in Swedish. The one you have now is totally wrong translated on some main translations.

EDIT by @aristath: Removed the zip file because it contained an email address (privacy concerns)

de_DE.po

Hello, in Avada directory de_DE.po shows instead of Ä and so on strange chars. Maybe the charset is wrong for saved po file.

French for "Load more posts" not working

I've added translations for "Load more posts" both to the fusion-builder-fr_FR and fusion-builder-fr_CA. Could you add them before the next update?

Thanks you!

Eric Thibault

User contributed files

Hello guys,

If there is a user contributed translation file, please create a github issue in this repo and we'll get it sorted.

After save with poedit a lot of lines are deleted

Hi there,
i forked the project to adjust a german translation 'Load more posts' (working with POEdit). But if I try to create a pull request, git shows me that there are a lot of deleted lines (~ 300, starting with #~).

I am not sure if this behaviour is correct, did i miss something ?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

fusion-builder arabic language file.

Hi and thank you all for the amazing theme. I am using the theme with an Arabic website, and I have copied the language file as directed. However, I notice that the fusion-builder file is not translated to Arabic or at least when I use the blog element (the meta info) are not translated. I just went a head and did the translation for my site. Here is the file if anyone would like to use it.

Please tell me how to submit the new files.

Thank you all,

Peace, and Ramadan Kareem.

Mohammed

Contact Info widget is not translating

Hello,

i've downloaded the whole zip with languages, uploaded theme and fusion German translations to the appropriate folders.

I can see that theme options are translated and fusion builder too, but contact info widget stays on English. For example, Phone: stands where the Telefon: should be.

When i check the language file with Poedit, translation is inside the file, but for some reason system doesn't load it.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Thanks

Why Arabic language is not supported?

This accounts for 5.2% of the world's population.
By Published Sunday, October 30, 2011.
The combined population of the Arab countries totalled around 367 million this month, nearly 5.2 per cent of the world's population, official data showed. :)

could you please support it? because i bought this theme thinking of that all translation languages are supported, but i was shocked that Arabic is not there :S

spanish translation (social link names)

The string "%s Link" in Avada-es_ES.po should be translated as "Enlace %s". Currently the "%s" is missing, so the Avada Social Links widgets does not show the name of the social network.

Issue with German Translation

A customer on FB likes the udpate but says she always has to redo German translations. See comments below. @maximus80 I tagged you in it since you speak German :)

Hi, everything's fine. Still, what is not so lucky are the "german translations". I still have to change translations manually.

There are five words. Under each blog post there is "by, categories, tags, comments". I don't know why, but I have to change by, categories and comments in avada-functions. Comments however is correct in the german word "Kommentare". The second change I do is in the file comments. There I have to change the words "logged in as , Logout" into "Angemeldet als , Abmelden". That's is. All the rest is in German. The language files seem to be actual. I installed out of Wordpress , so I did not load down anything. Do you know what I mean? Best, Ulrike Winzer

Dutch translation for 'Update' is not 'Afrekenen'

Hi,

If you update Avada, the [Update] button for plugins says [Afrekenen] in Dutch (nl_nl), that's wrong (it means settle a bill). In Dutch it can either stay [Update] or translated to [Bijwerken] (which is the WordPress translation for updating plugins).

I don't know how to contribute to the translations here, so that way I do it this way.

Wrong de-DE_formal translations

There are some wrong translations in the file "Localization-l10n/Avada/Avada-de_DE_formal.po".
Formal means, that there shouldn't be ANY "Du/du" oder "Deine/deine" etc.

The most important parts are:

#: includes/class-avada-woocommerce.php:1140
msgid "You Have %d Item In Your Cart"
msgstr "Du hast %d Artikel im Warenkorb"
should be translated to: "Sie haben einen Artikel im Warenkorb"

and

#: includes/class-avada-woocommerce.php:1142
msgid "You Have %d Items In Your Cart"
msgstr "Du hast %d Artikel im Warenkorb"
should be translated to: "Sie haben %d Artikel im Warenkorb"

There are some more, but they are not as present these.

Thanks a lot

en_US language files are missing

I noticed in the latest updates and here as well that the *-en_US.po and .mo files are missing. Did you rename them or are they just missing?

Cart Text

Hi guys,

When you hover over the cart symbol, the drop-down opens. In that drop-down, it reads:

Zur Kassa

In German, this should read

Zur Kasse

Could you please change this on future updates?

Thank you and best regard

Some strings are not localized in German localization de_DE

After manual installation of the de_DE language files for Avada and Fusion Core most strings are translated to German but some are still not. In the Blog overview there are still English strings ("By", "Comments", "Categories", "Tags"). In the search results these strings are correctly translated.

I used POEdit to check if the strings are correctly translated and I found them along with the correct translation inside the Avada de_De file.

Rename Avada Translation files

Rename Avada Translation files properly like Avada-es_ES.po instead of es_ES.po because each time we have an update, need to download the files again and rename them all.
