Muse is a collection of simple scripts which displays a random quote on startup. Quotes are taken from here. Contributions are welcome.
In the peek-in notification, quotes longer than roughly 65 characters are not shown completely. Instead they are followed by "...". Long quotes can be formatted to appear on new lines so that the whole quote can be viewed at once.
Hi, I haven't tried the App but it can use the "fortune" command for not just quotes...
Also use -s with fortune to get short quotations only
