SOF FW boot fails on HSW/BDW

SOF FW boot fails with with HSW/BDW targets when QEMU host side is also used.

No messages are seen in the shim region. Additional fixes are needed on top of the recently merged fixes to BYT host side.

[BYT][HOST+DSP] firmware boot fails if DMA trace is enabled

Firmware boot fails if DMA trace is enabled in kernel config. While DMA trace is disabled in kernel config by default, failure to initialize it should not fail the boot procedure.

[FEATURE] Fix clock ratio between CCOUNT and Timers

Currently the ratio between CCOUNT and timers is not aligned with HW values due to emulation. Fix this by incrementing timers based on CCOUNT increments (and keep it async).

[FEATURE] Minimal host image generation for fast full system testing and CI

Create scripts to build a small Linux VM for fast host+adsp testing with two QEMU instances. We already have CI tests that exercise the ADSP QEMU in an automated fashion, but host side testing is currently manually and developers are using custom host images.

Features:

• Small footprint
• libc + busybox+ ALSA (lib and tools) + SOF FW + SOF topology
• fast procedure to update SOF components and boot

Possible implementation ideas:

• from @lgirdwood: use Yocto tools to create the image, SOF components passed via cmdline

[BYT][HOST+DSP] driver initiated boot fails if DSP emulation not in debug mode (-s -S)

In full emulation test setup with both host and DSP running QEMU, the boot flow fails unless DSP qemu is started in debug mode ("./xtensa-host.sh byt -d" or passing "-s -S" to qemu binary).

SOF FW boot fails with with CHT target when QEMU host side is also used.

No messages are seen in the shim region. Additional fixes are needed on top of the recently merged fixes to BYT host side.

[FEATURE] Add DSP support to QEMU HDA driver

QEMU has a base HDA driver, but this lacks DSP support. To support it, following changes would be needed:

• add the PCI IDs for SKL+
• Reporting the DSP bit in HDA capabilities
• Adding the host IPC registers to HDA side.

Note: based on initial task list from @lgirdwood

[FEATURE] Add HIFI3/4 instructions to QEMU

QEMU currently does not support HIFI3/4 instructions used on many audio DSPs (e.g. Intel APL).

[BUG] No CLKSTS register

CLKSTS in SHIM is not implemented, it always returns 0x0 values.
