widgets not staying put

Hi I have a duel monitor setup 1 monitor for my games and the other for all my widgets. when i start my pc some of and sometimes all the widgets move to the main monitor. is their away to lock them in place ?

Performance -combo wide not showing disk activity

hey there!

no matter what disk i select it shows 0% disk activity, did i do anything wrong? everything else works but that. same thing happens when i load the other disk performance widgets.

Spotify control buttons don't work

Update rate and UpdateDivider improvement

More of a comment than an issue really. I see that you have Update=1 in at least your hard drive skins, and then are driving things with UpdateDivider=-1 on most things and OnChangeAction on a single measure that has UpdateDivider=100.

First off, Rainmeter does not support Update=1. The lowest effective value for Update that will work is 16 milliseconds, and even that is pushing Rainmeter really hard. While I understand the reasoning behind what you are doing, what you are missing is that the one unavoidable thing that Rainmeter will do on each and every Update is to redraw the entire skin. Having Rainmeter tell Windows to redraw the skin window once every 16 milliseconds is just a ton of work I don't think you want to do. While not a huge deal individually, there pretty much has to be some CPU impact if some significant portion of your entire suite is loaded.

My recommendation is to carefully think about what Update really needs to be in any given skin. For instance, checking the hard drive space more than once a second or so is just overkill in my view. I would likely use Update=1000. You can still use the UpdateDivider=-1 on most things and the OnChangeAction on the measures actually reading the disk, as that is a nice touch. Just remove the UpdateDivider=100 from the measures hitting the disk, and let them be driven by Update.

Volume widget - Vertical option

First, the widgets are really great.

Is it possible to get the volume widget in a vertical variant??

Widget request - Power user metrics (GPU, CPU with temp, etc.)

Just like CPU, it'd be great to have a GPU widget to view current stats and load.

For CPU (and GPU, if added), I also think the addition of a temperature indicator would be a minor but very useful feature.

HardDrive widget - Inconsistent reading

Hi. I'm a pretty new user so maybe there is something I'm not doing correctly. However, I am getting random readings on the hard drive volume information with the free space amount fluctuating multiple GBs (even several dozen), even several 100MBs when nothing is going on.

I'm using the Win10 Widgets\HardDrive skin with Rainmeter 4.0.0.0 beta r2613 64-bit (Jul 6 2016).

I don't think I've received the Aug 2, 2016 Windows 10 update yet (unless that is the Security Update for Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 4.0 (KB2993928) item in my update history).

However, this has been going on since I installed Rainmeter last month (and I do love it so much more than running Task Manager all the time!).

Widget request - Weather widget w/ user supplied API key

This is in response to the closed issue of the Yahoo data being slow or outdated and can't be fixed.

Here's an idea for more advanced users: (like an additional widget but continue using Yahoo for the default one if the user doesn't feel like messing with signing up for an API key)

Make a widget using Weather Underground's API: https://www.wunderground.com/weather/api/

Anyone can get a free API key for up to 500 calls per day, which would allow for updating up to like every 3 minutes: https://www.wunderground.com/weather/api/d/pricing.html (maybe program it for like every 5-10 minutes though... but I don't know if each bit of data counts as a call or if just the whole block of data is a call... if it's each bit of data I'm sure like every 30 minutes would still work, I don't know what it'd take though)

So instead of you footing the bill for tons of API calls, have an option in the widget to input the user's own API key before it'll work.

Widget request - Volume bar for Input

Hello @tjmarkham,

I would be very happy about a volume bar for the audio input devices, like a microphone. It should be the same design for the input as for the already existing output bar. So that I can in-/decrease the audio level for my microphone very fast. Thank you very much, have a great day and go on making such amazing software!

High CPU Usage and Reading

Hi,
I cannot correlate the CPU stats in WIN10 with the Windows resource Monitor, Win10 says I am averaging say 75-80%, while WRM says it is around 30%, and is the approximately equal across all 4 CPUs.

Also, of that 30%, 20-25% is showing as Rainmaker.exe, i.e Win10 is doing some that chews up far more CPU that the Windows, while WRM is only 5% and doing much the same thing (Monitoring and graphing). Loading and unloading the Widgets, it appears that the "Speakers" widget adds about 15% to the CPU load, and the "Disk Space" widget is about 10%, DateTime is another 5% (as measured on the Win10 CPU widget),

Could you a) clarify what the CPU meter is displaying, as it not the same as WIndows WMI, b) reduce the CPU being used by some of the widgets?

Widget request - Battery saver indicator/toggle

Currently the battery widget doesn't indicate weather or not the battery saver option is enabled (Charging however has an indicator).

Alongside that feature, could we get the option to toggle battery saver mode by interacting with the battery widget in a certain way? I don't know if rainmeter allows for easily accessible toggles like that.

Performance disk widget - Showing 0% disk time

I have 3 Disks (1SSD, 2HDDs all GPT), but the widgets shows always 0% workload for all of them. The Task Manager can display real values.
Works perfectly with my other PC (2HDDs both MBR).

Spotify track title does not work anymore

Since a couple of days, I have a strange behavior where next/previous/play buttons are ok but title track and thumbnail does not with an "Error: Spotify Plugin not working"

I re-installed the latest one from your website, restart computer, change variants, but same each time: only the buttons works.

Widget request - Google Play Music

I would LOVE to be able to use the Spotify widget with Google Play Music. I know there is no official API, but this desktop app (https://www.googleplaymusicdesktopplayer.com/) has an API for interfacing with it. I feel it should be able to work almost the same (if not exactly the same) as the spotify plugin.

HardDrive widget - Multiple drives

It would be nice to have multiple HDD widgets. I personally have three hard drives connected and would like to see the capacity for each one.

Spotify Update and Win 10 widgets

I'm noticing a system wide CPU hit with the latest Spotify update and the Win 10 Spotify widget. When spotify is running and Rainmeter is off, the speed hit is gone. When both are running, my cursor will intermittently give me the blue circling ring (thinking). Not sure if these are connected, but I figured I'd post here anyways. Thanks!

Weather widget - Yahoo data has slow update frequency

Is the weather widget going to be updated with a more accurate source of data? I've plugged in every zip code in my area and they are all less than accurate, usually 5 degrees and more off with the forecast being even more off. In contrast, wherever the Dark Sky smartphone app gets its data from might be something to look at as it's very accurate.

Home zip is 95404 BTW.

HardDrive widget - Click to open drive in File Explorer

Performance widgets - "Empty space" on the right

The length/width of the tiny disk skin is nice for keep things uniform, but the graph could utilize much more of the space if you just put the Disk label information on the other side of the graph and maybe made it vertical or something.

Just looks odd, takes up more space than it needs to if it's just going to be a square.

Spotify player broken

The Spotify player is broken. It just shows "Error: Spotify plugin not working."

4K support

I'm using a really high resolution display (4k) on my laptop. Windows scaling is set to 200%.

I love how the widget skins are exactly the same size as the action center, and the overall "native" feel of them.
The problem I'm having is that the fonts look pixelated. They are readable, but they make the skins look old, as if they were not really part of the desktop but rather an old program that's not optimized for 4k displays.
I'm pretty sure this will be pretty straightforward. I tried to do it myself but couldn't find any setting to change the fonts. So I'm hoping you can include a higher resolution font already installed? in the next update.

Widget request - Groove music widget

After i upgrade to WIN10 , i love to use Groove music
but there only support Spotify. This made me little inconvenience because i cant understand how to use Spotify and it made my computer crash
so i hope you can develop the Groove music widget :)

Weather widget - Switch to weather.com feed

It seems like the weather.com feed is a bit more stable than the Yahoo! one...

strange width of performance widget on 4K screen

as you can see performance widgets have strange width. They are too large compared to the screenshots on your site.

Why don't you add a resize option to scale widgets?

[Request] Notepad widget

I really like the aesthetic of this skin and would love a notepad widget for it. It would be so much more convenient and faster for me instead of having to open a .txt or a word document to take notes and I would be able to leave reminders right there on my desktop. Thanks.

Hard Drive and WiFi Widget Change requests

Overall I love the skin.

I do find myself using two of the widgets from the default skin that came with the program.
Your hard drive widget one displays one drive at a time where the other can be modified to display as many as you wish. I like to keep an eye on four of them.

And their WiFi widget displays the ip address (which is important to me in case my VPN acts up)

Neither of these is a big deal as I simply use the original widgets. But it would be get if they all looked the same.

At some point when I get free time I may try to decode these .ini files and add iP to your WiFi widget. But I'm sure it would look much better if someone that knew what they were doing did it.

Widget request - Calendar

A calendar widget would be a great addition. I like the option with the old Win7 one where you could have a month calendar view on the bottom and the current day and date above.

Lock widget - Doesn't work when username has spaces

I just downloaded Win10 widgets about half an hour ago and I'm having trouble with the Lock. I've watched the help video and it seems pretty straightforward -- left-click the lock and it changes to a locked icon and prevents the widgets from being moved.

However, when I left-click the lock it just reloads all the widgets. It reloads the weather and starts all the cpu, etc., meters from scratch, as if the skin were freshly loaded. And it never changes from an unlocked icon to a locked one. I've tried changing sizes in case the .ini was broken for one of them, but they all work the same way.

I've unloaded all of my other skins but that didn't help. I've tried double-clicking, right-clicking and going through all the options... everything I can think of but it just won't work. I'm stumped.

Widget Request - Website Widget

For my work we have a dashboard that we watch that shows servers down. It is a simple HTML website - I would like to incorporate that into RainMeter/Win10widgets so that it is a small widget on my desktop. The site is HTTPS and requires username/password to connect to it. Would it be something you all could look at adding?

Weather widget - Shows "Refresh"

Hi, again. I also am unable to get the Win10 Widgets\Weather to work. I have tried all five sizes and I never see any data, just a message to refresh in several seconds.

Weather widget - Shows "Dublin, DUB"

I've installed these awesome windows 10 widgets but I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the city in the weather widget. Everytime I put in a postal code, a city, province or country it always reverts back to Dublin, DUB.

Are there any plans for translations? Right now the only option is to use substitutes and format locales. That doesn't take too much time to do, but still, it would be nice if it could be automated.

Widget request - Enhanced disk details

Would it be possible to do the following;

• Combine the Performance - Disk and HardDrive widgets into one. The Space used / total could be put to the right of the drive letter above the graph
• Show two lines in the one graph - one for reads and one for writes. Different colours.
• Report the read and write speeds
• Allow the colour(s) of the widget to be user-specified (allowing to have different coloured graphs for different disks when displaying for multiple disks.

Would be awesome if you could make it work that the progress bar can be used to skip through the song.

Spotify Plugin not working since last update

For me, the control buttons are the only thing that is working.

Bug: Whether widget steals focus from other applications for 1 second

Fresh install, no changes. Disabling the Whether widget stops this behavior.

Memory leak caused by win10widgets

Win10 64-bit have a severe memory leak. Using RAMMap, i get that page table, paged pool and non-paged pool increased.

Page table leak is real and steady, about hundred to 2000kb per 2 minutes.

I accidentally make rainmeter crashed (non related) then continue the test. Without rainmeter running, the page table leak stopped. I run rainmeter without any skin from win10widgets, the leak doesn't happen too.

i can't isolate which individual skin is the root cause. (i use win10widgets without non-win10widgets)

Widget request - App launch bar

Does that make sense? I'm sure there are a bunch out there, but would like one themed to this. If you can explain how you went about the theming, I could probably just do it myself too.

Or add shortcuts, etc to it.

Weather widget - Auto-location doesn't work for all locations

With Auto-Location the widgets displays the following message:

Connection Error
Try again in a few seconds

And no matter how many times I press the Refresh button, it doesn't work. However, setting the location manually doesn't produce any error messages.

Add week number to DateTime Widget

Would it be possible to add the week number (week 1-52) to the right of the date? This would help me a lot as I constantly need it for work.

Widget request - More music player support

Hi, I really like your Rainmeter skin, it looks really nice paired with my other skin and on my desktop. Two issues with it though. First I would really appreciate it if you made a music player/remote that was compatible with other music players and services such as Windows Media Player, Winamp, iTunes, MusicBee (The one I use 😀 ), Pandora, etc. Second, I would also really like to be able to change the color of the background or just have the option to give it a blur effect. If you ask me I believe this will make the skin perfect for me. Thank you for reading and have a great day! 😄

P.S. I've downloaded Spotify just to try things out, but it appears the widget seems to freeze up with local files oddly (I've attached a screenshot)
