trichomenet's Issues

Autoname leaves

Jeff,

Can you make it so that uploaded leaves take on the file name by default?

Users should still have the chance to rename if they want, but to save time, same names would be good.

Also this should be a step towards batch upload. If I have 100 pictuers, it's easier to upload genotypes by batch. I know this will take more time, but keep it in mind for later updates.

Add Heat index

As per my email. it would be great if you could adjust the ranges on the heat maps.

Simulation Leaves

Is it possible to add your leaf simulation script to the site?

The way this would work would be in the analysis page you would have the option of simulating different trichome densities. You could use a slider to lower the density from 100, then choose number of simulations (1k max) and output the data in the csv.

I would rank this as 2ndary in priority though extremely interesting.

Graceful Errors

Trichomenet currently dies on error. All errors need to be handled gracefully with a user meaningful message.

Trichome density

In the analysis section you present trichome density in a "per box" amount.

The critical aspect is trichome density in the whole leaf. Can you express the value in trichome density per leaf with the std deviation error being calculated as the difference in density between different leaves in the analysis group rather than between different boxes?

Convert to jQuery

All the standard javascirpts needs to be adapted to jQuery for better cross-browser support. Obviously some of the custom functions (handling the trichome points) will still have to be written in native JS, however the majority of the AJAX and DOM handling could be switched for better support in multiple environments.

Average distance in analysis

This is not informative. I would remove the "average distance" that appears directly above a functional heat map.

Changing Heat Map color Scheme

I think it would be very neat if we allowed users to "shift" the heat map color index. Right now our color steps are calibrated towards middle leaves. However some leaves that have less trichomes show all "white" space.

What if in the analysis page we allowed people to shift the index towards more or less sensitive kind of like you allowed me to do by altering the script.
