New Calculation for 'Is Traffic Shitty'

I don't think that the current algorithm to calculate shitty traffic is accurate.
Instead of just looking at a majority of records, we should find an average of the averages, and then an average of the actual travel times and compare.

If the actual time is over X% of the average, then traffic is shitty.

Traffic detail styling

• light bottom border
• change font color (grey)
• change font size & styling

Subtle Animations to Header

I want to create a subtle animation to the header, with the text fading in.

Traffic Details

Change the traffic detail list. Instead of giant green blocks, make everything with a white background and then format everything as a sentence. Statement will be color coded.

Traffic from Seattle to Downtown is 27 minutes. This is 4 minutes above average

Change the favicon & add open graph images

Shitty Traffic Server

Consider building a server that can server up traffic data and answer the simple question: Is traffic shitty?

This will allow you to remove the JSONP request and begin building a small platform for twitter bots, etc ...

Adding real time tweets from WSDOT / SDOT / etc...

This could be built in golang (or built off the existing tweet server) and should talk to the GraphQL server back-end.

What is the goal?

• Just return real-time tweets?
• Look for tweets about traffic incidents?
• Should the tweets returned change based on user's search input?

What does the UI for this look like? Need to make it clean and crisp...

Group Traffic List by Severity

Should group the traffic list by severity (bad, warning, good)

Support multiple locations.

Gather a list of major cities and their traffic data.
In the browser, use Geo location to pick the right city.

Use cookies to remember location if Geo isn't available.

What to do for initial visit?? Other ways to detect location?

First step is to enable location detection and then throw a banner if their location isn’t supported.

Let user change/select location as well...

Ping for new data periodically (Realtime Updates)

Is there a way to get real-time updates w/o polling the server every xx seconds?
Is this something that the Apollo server can do?

Shitty traffic twitter bot

Quick flash of ugly

Need a way to display a loading status.
On load, the text / color isn't always correct. So if traffic is shitty, it will actually display green first, then red, then reload the text.

Not cool.

Header Text on Mobile

Work on fine tuning text placement on mobile. It is not quite centered.
