I need to add the volume because user need permission to access file on that volume but prevent user access from UI. I have tried using js $("#nav-volume~name_").remove(); but it doesnt work

I ended up using another alternative to solved my case

Glad to hear it. There're cases that are too specific to be included in a generic project so we may want to extend or find another workaround for them.

Can you create 2 endpoints, endpoint A for elFinder UI and endpoint B for your file access functionality? In endpoint B you can add the volume there.
