build-stages-demo's Issues

shared-storage-with-s3: additional instructions on setting up required AWS credentials?

I think this demo assumes that you've already somehow setup your AWS credentials, because by following the demo you provided I get an authentication error.

Instructions for including credentials is described here, however, I think that these instructions may also be obsolete, as AWS no longer gives access to the secret key, and as such I only have access to my Access Key ID on my security credentials page.(found it โ€“ย I must of missed the instructions the first time I generated the access key. Regenerating the key gave me access to the secret key)

Regardless, I tried following Travis's S3 credentials deployment instructions in my projects .travis.yml file, however it resulted in the following error:

Worker information

There was an error in the .travis.yml file from which we could not recover.

The `deploy` configuration should be a hash (dictionary), or an array of hashes.

Please review https://docs.travis-ci.com/user/deployment, or contact us at [email protected] with the error ID: 12d93a18260347cf986388e8326e4776

which a google search only lead to me to this tweet, and the user never followed up by actually creating an issue (I searched).

is services: docker not required?

in the travis doc, it is stated to add this to the .travis.yml:

sudo: required

services:
  - docker

But in this example it is not in the .travis.yml and i have a project without it too and docker works.

So my question is services: docker required in the .travis.yml to use docker in the build?
