What I learned

I may not have used HTML5 semantics but i really like how i was able to construct this HTML orderly.

<div id="newsletter" class="newsletter-card">
  <div id="description" class="description-div">
      <h1 class="header">Stay updated!</h1>
      <p class="hero-text">
          Join 60,000+ product managers receiving monthly updates on:
      </p>
      <ul class="list-item">
          <li class="product-description"><img src="images/icon-list.svg"> Product discovery and building what matters</li>
          <li class="product-description"><img src="images/icon-list.svg"> Measuring to ensure updates are a success</li>
          <li class="product-description"><img src="images/icon-list.svg"> And much more!</li>
      </ul>
  </div>

  <div id="email" class="email-div">
      <label class="email-label" for="email">Email address: </label>
      <input type="email" name="email" id="email-address" placeholder="[email protected]" class="email">

      <button type="submit" id="subscribe">Subscribe to monthly newsletter</button>
  </div>
</div>

This may not be the best way to validate an email (using Regular Expressions, which i'm not all that familiar with right now), but this piece of code somewhat did the job as needed.

    if (input !== '' && input.includes('@') && input.includes('.com')) {
        // loads the success message
        setTimeout(() => {
            signUpSuccess();
        }, 1500);

    }
