Hey, sorry for the lack of response. Just letting you know that we're going to be starting on this feature (and other cases of language nesting, like JS inside of script tags) this week. I'm not sure how long it'll take before it's shipped in Atom.

I just discovered this behavior:
Step 1: add a single quoted string to template
Step 2: open the quote, see html highlighting
I supposed this changes this issue from a feature request to a bug report

This feature was implemented in atom/atom#17551. It will ship in Atom 1.30, or 1.30-beta if you're so inclined.

There is now explicit documentation for this library feature: http://tree-sitter.github.io/tree-sitter/using-parsers#multi-language-documents.
