macsosumi's Issues

Insecure storage of passwords

Disclaimer: I'm incredibly paranoid (but this probably needs fixing anyway).

I had an account issue with Sosumi, where it duplicated one of my accounts unnecessarily. Upon inspecting the preference file, I discovered that my Apple account password was being stored in plain text, despite assurance that it would be stored in the Keychain! Upon deleting just the password (and leaving the username intact) I found that Sosumi continued to run as usual (because it fetches the password from the Keychain).

Edit:

I've in fact now gone and put together a 'fixed' version, which works fine, with very few changes - hopefully you'll be satisfied and merge it in! I haven't added anything to fix existing preferences, however. It'd be very helpful if you could either upgrade the preferences on startup or warn users of this bug such that they can purge the plaintext password from their disks (although I'm off to remove it from my Time Machine backups as well...) :S

Add refresh timer adjustment

User should be able to adjust how frequently FMIP is polled - ideally on a device by device basis. Important since this affects battery life (considerably).

Not working on LION

accounts dont seem to connect on Lion, just left with the account name on the sidebar no devices.

AppleScript support for device coordinates

Should be able to query Sosumi programmatically for device coordinates - at a minimum.

Ideally it should be just as easy to get your data out of Sosumi as it is to get it into. Sosumi should serve as a bridge for other applications that want to use the data.

Sosumi don't show devices anymore

Sosumi don't show any devices anymore, in the console debug return "Could not login to FMIP" but it worked with the same account until yesterday.
Thank you

Pull API logic out of SSMAccount

We should remove the API fetching logic from SSMAccount and put it in it's own controller that cycles through the accounts instead. This would remove the problem of SSMAccounts having to update SSMDevices directly - and would then let us fix my god awful NSTreeController code.

Optionally store location history

Store a device's location history over time. Use Yahoo!'s GeoPlanet service to convert the coordinates into friendly names for table display (in addition to the requisite map view).

Does not seem to work

As you can see from

screenshot

none of my accounts are working and I cannot even delete them to try again.

(version 1.3.3)

Low battery alerts

Send alert when a device battery becomes low. More useful perhaps - only send low battery alerts at night in case the user forgets to charge their phone before bed.

Not working

Currently not working, allows icloud sign on but doesn't recieve any devices

Update icons for devices

Hi,

I have just installed Version 1.3.2 (1.3.2) of Sosumi and have noticed that my MacBook, identified as Device Type: "MacBook MacBook5_1" is displayed on the map with an iPhone icon, I'd therefore like to suggest updated icons or a more suitable generic icon.

Thanks,
Rich

Location alarms

Define an area on the map to post an alert (Growl? Email? FMIP Message?) when a device enters or leaves the zone.

Is this too creepy?
