Notes to myself

• The public dir should be tracked on the deploy branch, but not on main.
• The deploy branch will be force-pushed each time it is updated.
• Some posts are tagged, but I have stopped caring about tags.
• I think of project pages as simply evergreen pages, dated with the project's approximate creation date.
• Set a project's extra.project_status to "unliested" to hide it from lists.

At first I thought this was just on one article page. Nope, it's the whole site.

Improve the favicon

The current favicon looks terrible sometimes:

Time to make a nicer one. I'll have to look into how to do this.

Old Hugo image references are broken

Ditch Google Fonts

The Merriweather web font files are served by Google, and I want to distance myself from Google. I want my site to be able to say "No trackers were found on this page" in Safari and Firefox.

So, I need to experiment with using local fonts for the site title instead of a web font. Or possibly finding another web font that I can self-host or get from a more privacy-friendly host.

Update the date format on the projects page

Right now, the project page looks like this:

• Potterscore Fri, May 7, 2021
• Multi-Minesweeper Sat, Feb 27, 2021
• Stock Market Game Thu, Oct 1, 2020
• This Website! Thu, Dec 22, 2016
• SAVvie Fri, Nov 11, 2016

But I don't like that date format for projects. The day of the week is irrelevant, and year is most important.

Reformat the project page so the dates look like this instead:

• Potterscore 2021-05-07
• Multi-Minesweeper 2021-02-27
• Stock Market Game 2020-10-01
• This Website! 2016-12-22
• SAVvie 2016-11-11

Improve link contrast

With the new sunset look, links in paragraphs have no contrast at all. Gotta fix that.
