covid_ui's Issues

Poverty numbers are about double what they should be

e.g.

Consider a longer history

Rather than only 2018, look back at least until 2009.

Make plotly plots

Including bar charts with % reductions to poverty, poverty gap, and inequality (could be a grouped bar chart like below, from this post). Also trends. Break out "FPUC1" (what's already happened) from "FPUC2" (conditional on FPUC1, effect of different policies from here on).

Include pre-2009 data

Currently I'm loading data from 2000 (1999) but only data from 2009 is working.

I'm guessing this is due to taxcalc.

Check FICA numbers

The poverty gap doesn't make sense (Gini also seems worse than I'd expect)

Assign random continuous unemployment spell

The current script assigns FPUC based on weeks unemployed, effectively assuming that all weeks overlap exactly with the dates FPUC (and FPUC2) are active.

Instead, assume only that all unemployment spells are continuous and that they're randomly distributed throughout the year. So the unemployment start week will be a random number between 0 and 52 - weeks unemployed.
