Labeling: A Materia Widget

Students select items from a bank and use them to label associated parts of an image. Labeling is designed for use with Materia, an open-source platform for interactive course content developed by the University of Central Florida.

Basic Use

In a production evironment, Labeling is installed to your Materia instance and is accessed via the Widget Catalog. For development, Labeling is bundled with the Materia Widget Development Kit, which allows for rapid development in a local context using express.js.

Local Development

Labeling uses the Materia Widget Development Kit for local development. Check out the docs for the MDK to learn more about starting up the local express environment.

Labeling: Need limit on label text

You can paste in a lot of text into a labeling label, which can actually push the image offscreen

Investigate & Implement 3D model support

We've had one or two instructors request support for 3D models in labelling specifically. It'd be a cool addition to what the widget can already do, and prior Hack Day projects have proven it's possible.

Uploading an animated gif shows the gif playing the creator but doesn't play in the viewer

I think it's fine if the gif doesn't play, but since it appears to work in the editor it can be misleading

Labeling - skip resize step when choosing a new image

You almost never want to resize or scale an image in labeling - let's just skip that step when uploading a new image.

Labeling: Creator and Player should use matching fonts on the labels

They're different currently which is unexpected

Labeling can grow in height, forcing it to scroll in an iframe, and obscuring the submit button.

I'm not sure we can do anything, perhaps make the submit button a sort of full screen event?
