tac's Issues

Discuss new process for setting agenda items

We're trying out a new way to track agenda items. Please tag your agenda inputs for the next meeting with the "tac-agenda" label. We will review any issues in the meeting that are open and have this label. To remove an item from the agenda, please close the issue with your item.

Update TAC charter with membership details

As discussed in the 11 sep 19 TAC meeting, a simple process to propose new members is needed. A simple request to become a TAC member to the mailing list while requiring an existing TAC member sponsor and 2/3 TAC approval. I understand that a PR will be created proposing the process above to be added to the TAC charter.

I add to the discussion:

  1. Should there be lower or upper boundary limits to the number of TAC members?
  2. Should there be limit to the number representatives from any one project or company?
  3. As new projects get added to UCF, a process of automatically including their representative to the TAC could encourage participation.

Elect TAC Chair

The TAC is responsible for electing a chair, who will preside over meetings of the TAC.

We would propose the following election procedure for consideration:

  • We call for nominations via email (to be sent out today) to all of the TAC members, with Friday, 8 pm PT, May 31, being the close of the nomination period.
  • We will distribute a slate of nominees together with bios and/or statements of intent, and open an email voting period which will close Wednesday, 8 pm PT, June 5.
  • We generally have nominations made via ‘reply all’ to our call for nominations email, and then ask for direct emails to us for the actual voting.
