Hello, Buddy.
Not sure if it's ok to request some overlays, but would you please make some overlays for arcade games, especially for CPS1 and CPS2 games?

hey mate, I would like to suggest you to create another repo for temporary or non-overlay related files.
I'm saying that because your repo (rpie-ovl) is downloaded/cloned by rpie-art
users and there are some files here unrelated with our original intention, don't you agree?
Please, don't take it like I'm wanting to say what you should do on your own repo, it's just a suggestion! ๐

Hey, buddy. I've been searching for some overlays and found you did quite a good job. Love your overlays. So my question is, is there any way (a script perhaps) to set different overlay for each different game when I am launching the game? For now, I just lauch the game then select the overlay I want.
P.S. I am a newbie, not sure if it's a stupid question.

Did you try this overlay with the game?
It didn't look good here. But I'm using a raspi1 and not sure if it's a resolution issue.
The overlay with sidebars only worked flawlessly!
@UDb23 I'm not sure but maybe it would be a good practice to release the sidebars-only overlays as default, and those that needs the video_scale_integer
being the optional.

I have both Illusion of Gaia and Super Mario RPG on my retropie. When I try to use the script to install the custom overlays for each, it returns an error saying it can't find the games. The one for Galaga in Arcade worked fine, but not the SNES ones. I checked to make sure the naming scheme is the same, unless it's expecting zipped files instead of .sfc files.
Info.txt may include specific line to add corresponding game data to gamelist.xml

If this line is found in info.txt, script should check if in same folder a gamedata.txt
exists.
If gamedata.txt
exists, extract data and write into gamelist.xml
If gamedata.txt
does NOT exist, pull data from global game data file (includes all .78 roms; I can provide this file in the Repo in whatever structure/format needed; current file available here) and write into gamelist.xml
gamedata.txt would allow people to create their own game data (or translated version for local language).
Game data basically means game name and description (<desc>
in gamelist.xml)
