usi_core's Issues

TweakScale support on reactors

It's weird that the reactors can't be scaled but the Kontainers can.

Reducing the size of the reactors should output less power, reduce fuel consumption and require less cooling. Opposite for increasing their size.

Extra zero on tank 3 amount for ArgonGas

Apparently, tank 03 has an extra zero on the ArgonGas value, making it 65M instead of 6.5M, which would be proportional to the other resources and tank sizes.

Weird MKS inflatable parts aero shielding behavior after USITools update

A recent change to USITools.dll seems to have changed the conditions for the MKS Ranger inflatable parts to receive aerodynamic shielding from a payload fairing. Unless the fairing is very large, the inflatable parts won't receive aero shielding, and will produce drag during atmospheric flight even while "inside" the fairing. This can make it difficult to launch a rocket whose payload includes radially-mounted Ranger inflatables, e.g. on the base of a Scout landing module.

Here's a .craft file that has a Ranger mini-hab inside a payload fairing. With a clean install of MKS v0.50.13 (including USITools.dll v0.8.11) or v5.0.12 (including USITools.dll v0.8.10), the hab doesn't get aero shielding from the fairing. (Place it on the launchpad, turn on the "aero data in action menus" debug option, then zoom the camera through the fairing and right-click the hab. It says "Shielded: False" at the top of the menu.)

However, if you go back to the VAB and make the fairing a full segment taller, keeping the same diameter, then the hab does get shielding. The other MKS inflatable parts behave similarly, though the required fairing size (both diameter and height) varies.

Note that if you inflate the hab, it sticks out through the side of the fairing — yet it still gets aero shielding from the "tall" fairing, so the shielding check clearly isn't based on the size of the inflated hab dome in its displayed orientation. However, the tall fairing is big enough to fit the inflated hab dome pointing upward, so it could be that the shielding check is looking at the inflated size in the wrong orientation.

If you replace USITools.dll with v0.8.8 (from USI Core v0.3.4), the problem goes away and all the Ranger inflatable parts receive aero shielding from the original "short" fairing.

(As a workaround, the inflatable part can be placed inside a KIS SC-64 container. Those can be attached anywhere a Ranger part can, and after BobPalmer/MKS#1112, they're compatible with the Scout's weight transfer feature just like the Ranger parts are.)

Kontainers are too Heavy ?

I don't tell they are too heavy, but i want understand why weight are that hight,

If i watch real world Containers for a 67m³ is 3.75 tons, but yours weight 10 Tons, those spec are double versus refrigerated containers where for 67m³ the weight is 5 tons with refrigerator.

For space transport like refrigerated they require insulation and i can understand the weight of refrigerated ones.

if you are interested i have take the values from here http://www.kkfreight.com/container-types.html, i have watched other sites but specs are always near

Probably my request is related at my gameplay because is always a pain move containers and you can close it if you think that is a selfish request and don't fit your mod design

Sorry for my bad english
Regards Luca

Kontainers annoying to reconfigure

As I said on the KSP forum, I find Konatainers annoying to reconfigure and would prefer a system more alike what Angel-125 has in place.

USI does not work

USI Life support does not work, When I start the game part there is but the game does not use them,
Not included Habitation (USI Kolonization installed)
(sorry for my bad english)

All containers subtract the price of "full contents" from the base price.

Well all containers subtract the price of their contents from the base price. This means that only a full container has a "price", while an empty has often a negative price. An example:

image

Filling it shows the price of 2640, which is quite cheap for such an amount of fuel. Furthermore: the price will always be 2640, independent of what fuel is selected.

Screwy Tank Config

The Kontainer Tanks seem to have some kind of issue with the Firesplitter FuelSwitch Module.

Namely, the label doesn't match the contents and "Tank_07" seems to be a fuel option.

Additionally, the Cylindrical tanks don't support Karborundum, only the spherical ones do.

Strange behavior of Duna and Rangermodules

Sorry did not seen your Call for a issue.
The behavior is everytime reproduceable with USI Parts only for Auxilary, Airlock and Scout-200 on Every Dunamodule. I have a moded install but like you see in Forum (pics) only USI parts on Test.
Oddly enough all other modules Act absolutely Perfect. Additionaly i tried to Start the Test and i am Not able to target the parts there to but Kerbals are able to interact. Like Grab, Board for Airlock.

Add CTT support for nuke tanks

Please add the C3_NukeFuelTank and the C3_DepletedFuelTank to the CTT.cfg. I'm guessing that the nuclearFuelSystems node makes the most sense.

Delete USI-ReactorNFE.cfg

It is safe to delete GameData/UmbraSpaceIndustries/ReactorPack/USI-ReactorNFE.cfg, since this patch (in an expanded form) is now shipped by Near Future Electrical instead.

Add compatibility for the new Kerbal types

Engineers have been supplemented by Mechanics and other new kerbal types. I suggest switching the hard-coded "engineers are the only people who can blow stuff up" to an effect that can be applied to the some of the new kerbals.

Version file goof -- wrong max version

The USICore.version file included in all of the downloads says it's for KSP up through 1.1.2, but as of its latest revision, the one here (which is the one that KSP-AVC listens to) says it's only good through KSP 1.1.1.

Kontainer drycost does not scale

All sizes of "Kontainer tank - cluster" and "kontainer tank - flat" have the same dry cost.

EDIT: the same is true for KIS-Kontainers of different sizes (including the "Stow-Pak")

LFO Tanks show argon texture

This happens with several Kontainer Tanks (for example the 1.25m version). The texture switch config looks ok (LFO and argon reference different textures). Maybe the content of the texture file is wrong?
