Build

Language list is available out of the box, but if you want to submit patches, add new formats, update data source or contribute in any other way, you will probably want to rebuild the list:

include deprecated locales: iw in ji

There are three locales that were used in Java and still show up on Android devices:

• iw used to be for Hebrew
• in used to be for Indonesian
• ji used to be for Yiddish

request: include native list

a "native" list with each language in its native language and script would be useful

Can you recommend a list of contemporary languages

Hi @umpirsky ,

This package is great but also includes "dead languages". Can you perhaps recommend a similar list of only contemporary languages? Or a way to generate it?

Package is not present on packagist?

I just found out the package is not present on Packagist. Would it be possible for you to push it there as well?

How is this package meant to be used?
Possibly add some examples?

Incorrect length id

On the MySQL version, the length is 2 and this may cause errors. The length should be at least 7.

Complete list as sql (mysql)?

Hi,
I am wondering whether it is possible to get (or to can download) a file with all language translations?
I would need this for my website for a query field, bt don't know how to handle this code here.

Package version

hello @umpirsky , in order to ease importation of this package using composer could you add a version tag and update package on packagist ?

Meaning of quote

What does the quote mean?

Example:
jam,"Jamaican Creole English"

include country variants for Chinese

It is quite common to list the Chinese by country (CN, HK, TW) rather than by written form (Hans, Hant). It would be nice to include those:

  zh_CN: 中文(简体)
  zh_HK: 中文(香港)
  zh_TW: 中文(台灣)

Strange language names (Unknown Language, No linguistic content)

I had to delete these names manual.

Are the names related to the data?

Are these really ISO 639-1?

The Readme mentions that the list is ISO 693-1. According to ISO, it "provides a 2 letter code that has been designed to represent most of the major languages of the world". However, this repository contains three-letter codes as well. At a quick glance, it seems like these are a combination of 693-1 when available, and then falls back to 693-2 or 693-3. Is this the case? Would love to see this information stated in the readme as well.

Add package to packagist.org

I am not able to install this package using composer. It is not on packagist.org, but your other packages are.
