Try

 if (Files.exists(Paths.get("/tmp/update.zip")))
    Archive.read("/tmp/update.zip").install();

That does help.
But it is tricky. After all attempts I had a 0 byte /tmp/update.zip, so I ran into the error again.
After removing /tmp/update.zip, I don't experience problems anymore.

So, to be sure:

if (Files.exists(Paths.get("/tmp/update.zip")) && Files.size(Paths.get("/tmp/update.zip"))>0)
    Archive.read("/tmp/update.zip").install();

While this workaround helps, perhaps you should implement a safety check.

That's because Archive::read will create a new zip file. If you have the exists check you shouldn't run into this empty file in first place
