vim-tmux-pilot's Introduction

Hello, world!

I am a researcher (Inria Starting Faculty Position) in the MATHERIALS group, a joint research team of Inria and École des Ponts ParisTech. My research focus within MATHERIALS is on the development and analysis of efficient and robust sampling methods in high dimensions, particularly for applications related to statistical inverse problems and computational statistical physics.

Most of the scientific software I wrote for my research is available on this Github page. This includes

  • A Python library for Fourier/Hermite spectral methods;

  • A library of Python scripts implementing interacting particle methods for Bayesian inverse problems;

  • A FreeFem++ code for the Cahn-Hilliard equation;

  • A Julia code for calculating the effective diffusion coefficient associated with standard Langevin dynamics, using a variance reduction approach based on control variates.

vim-tmux-pilot's Issues

Error in WSL

There seems to be a problem when running this in WSL. I’m using tmux 2.6 in Zsh on Windows 10 in a Ubuntu WSL and Vim 8.0 (patchlevel 1453). When trying to switch from a pane with Vim to another pane, I get the following error:

Error detected while processing function pilot#wintabcmd:
line   58:
E484: Can't open file /tmp/vUoM8wa/5

Navigating from a non-Vim pane to a pane with Vim works fine, same with navigating between two non-Vim panes. My umask is set to 077, however even switching to 000 seems to make no difference.

Possibility of remapping the keys?

Firstly, thank you very much for the awesome plugin! I wonder if it's possible to implement the function to remap the keys, both for tmux and vim?

Normally I map <c-j> and <c-k> for Ultinsips, so there're some conflicts with your plug-in when I use vim with tmux. For example, the <c-j> may trigger unwanted panel switches.

I would like to be able to remap the keys into <c-J> and so forth with capital letters.
Thank you again!

Add option to split instead of creating new window in Vim

Instead of creating a new empty window I find that I often want to split the current window to view different parts of the file independently, so an option to make that the default behavior would be much appreciated.
Should be an easy change, instead of v?new you would have to use v?split. I can create a PR tomorrow if you want.

Wrong installation documentation

The Plug reference is presumably to the old name of the repo:
Plug 'urbainvaes/vim-wintab'

Wrong tmux installation instruction:
s/wintab.tmux.conf/wintab.tmux/

The inconsequent vim-tmux-pilot/wintab references are confusing.
Stick with either.
