ObjectDisposedException when closing the application

Sometimes if you close the application while searching images, you get an ObjectDisposedException. The search thread is trying to access MainForm (which has already been disposed) for updating the progress bar. A solution to this is properly using BackgroundWorker's CancelAsync() method. Placing it on the FormClosing event of MainForm results in the application not closing. It seems that BackgroundWorker's CancellationPending flag isn't updated correctly.

Memory management

When executed, the first time the program searchs in images, the memory consumed grows despite the garbage collector being called. Example:
