Harvesting swing top bottles

We need more swing top bottles

Comparing swing top bottle prices

La Choppe à Barrock

Spent $142.45 on 12 x 500 ml bottles and 12 x 750 ml bottles.

That's 15 L of capacity, averaging to $9.49 per liter.

Amazon

Spent $88.04 on 12 x 1 L bottles, which was one of the best deals on Amazon.

That's 12 L of capacity, averaging to $7.34 per liter.

Hacker-Pschorr

A Hacker-Pschorr (full) costs $3.35 per bottle for a 500 ml bottle at the SAQ.

That's $6.7 per liter. Better than any other option, plus it actually comes with beer inside. Downside is it comes with a sticker on the bottle and those are a pain in the ass to remove.

Action items

Let's buy a fuckton of Hacker-Pschorr. Since it would be unethical and emotionally harmful to just pour it down the drain to get the bottles, and since I don't want to drink only Hacker-Pschorr for the next 6 months, let's make a party and offer Hacker-Pschorr based drinks.

Here's a list of Hefeweizen based cocktails that look interesting:

Let's say we want enough bottles to bottle a 5 gallons batch. That's 18 L of capacity, which represents 36 Hacker-Pschorr.

With a drunkness target equivalent to a 12.5% 750 ml bottle of wine per person, this represents 3.4 Hacker-Pschorr per person, so we can invite 10.56 people, but in reality probs a bit more especially if we're gonna make mixed drinks.

Fruithé

Session Milky Stout au caramel salé de Bretagne

Grapefruit (Wheat?) Ale

I love grapefruit, but the St-Ambroise Grapefruit IPA is too bitter to my taste and doesn't reveal the grapefruit in all its beauty.

The apricot gets everything right in terms of fruitiness, and it's a wheat ale instead of an IPA.
The raspberry as well, and it's a regular ale.

Try a grapefruit (wheat?) ale?
