I'm using Windows 10 x64 with amd radeon 7870 graphic card with latest drivers + vulkan installed.
Dota 2 Vulkan support enabled and added -vulkan in set launch options without any other command.
i have the latest driver update
and downloaded the DLC
when i check with vulcaninfo.exe
it shows like this.

Here the line talk about render system:

Game runs fine on dx11, but everything seems like slow motion when using Vulkan, starting from the main menu. The game runs at > 100 fps (better than dx11 actually) but it feels like it's everything on slow motion.
I'm using Nvidia Drivers (368.22, Windows 10) and it was not happening before I updated it (I tested -vulkan before and after updating to the most recent drivers).

Downloaded latest nVidia driver, Vulkan API for Dota2, vconsole showing its on, still having worse experience than with standard dx9. With Vulkan game feels sluggish, got low fps around 50-60 and HUD/UI is constatnly flickering like there is problem with rendering. Specs: CPU i7-3630qm, GPU GeForce GTX 660M (2GB), RAM 8GB, its in MSI GE60 ntb. Normally having 70-110fps (depends on team fights) with settings on 1080p, max rendering, most light options, shadows and water off. All ppl with this same CPU/GPU HW configuration mentioned its same. Hope it will be useful with cooperating with GPU drivers creators.
Ram usage increased steadily throughout the game, eventually using up about 6.5gb.

AFAIK there is a wrapper for Vulkan on top of Metal API called MoltenVK.
Will you try to test this MoltenVK?
I noticed, on getting the game running, that Vulkan is only rendering on the primary GPU.
I'm expecting that this is behaving as implemented currently but it's a shame that multiple GPUs aren't supported in this release and I worry that you won't implement this in the future.
This is one of the primary advantages that Vulkan(and DX12) has over Ogl/DX9/11, that, because it threads and queues the work more efficiently over multiple cores, multiple GPU configurations should see better and more consistent performance uplift; especially for those of us that have slower CPUs which are highly threaded.
The downside of course is that you guys have to do all the work to handle the GPU resources and the rendering load balancing.
Oh, and if this is working as anticipated, consider this issue a feature request please.
My dota 2 was unable to launch or start when add in the launch option -vulkan.
My pc spec as below:
with -vulkan option at launch dota 2 won't load anymore, it does launch but it goes to tray and then immediately disappears(closes).
Windows 7 64bit, 8 gb ram, AMD Radeon HD 7970 with latest drivers + vulkan installed.
My screen seem to flicker after loading up the game every ~15 seconds or so on average.

Hello,
I switched to steam beta and installed dota2 vulkan DLC. I started with -vulkan and -con_logfile switches. Dota2 failed with message pop-up "Failed to initialize vulkan". As far as I understand I'm meeting all prerequisites (nvidia 364.19, Geforce GT620M, etc...). Perhaps someone can give me a hint, what's wrong with my setup. All needed information is appended at the end.

I have a 4k monitor and a GTX860M which driver update just came out today (368.22) and inserted -vulkan in launch command. Also using steam beta version. Running 64bit Windows 8.1, i7-4700HQ, 16GB RAM.
I've had problems with and without VSync.

Even after the first game (and an extra three) there are still many visual glitches, such as the one below:
So, is 4k supported in vulkan?
Downloaded Vulkan DLC, set launch option to -vulkan
(nothing else). Anytime I load any game mode (demo mode, bots, custom lobby) the game will crash with the following popup.

Note that sometimes this happens on launch of the game, before anything even loads.
Seems weird that there's an OpenGL error when enabling vulkan support, removing -vulkan
from the launch options results in all modes working as expected.

earlier this morning i downloaded vulkan and apply it on nvidia driver 365.19,it run fine with 60fps+
Afternoon nvidia released latest nvidia 368.22 and i installed it,then tested with dota,it run very laggy and occured screen flickering,fps maintain the same

i try play with vulkan and i feel 10 % performance boost. its fine for hours. but then i got statue dance (lag) and fps drop in every team clash while im using phantom lancer. i need reconnect to normalize but i got lag again in next team clash. and i got 9999 magina's manabreak damage from spectre in my clash history, its strange if that magina is my teammate. please check it out . I have a gt730 card which supports Vulkan
But when I start dota I get this error message saying:
Failed to initialize Vulkan
Please make sure your driver and GPU support Vulkan"
I have a fresh 365.19 graphic driver installed with a Vulkan Run Time Libaries 1.0.11.1

Interestingly enough, the tools seem to work with vulkan (even if they do crash all the time normally).

when i lunch the game steam give me am playing dota 2 for 20sec then back to online
My system is a asus rog notebook with an i74750, 8 gigs of ram and 4 gigs of vram with a Nvidia 950m card.
while playing sf, having the arcana equipped i bottled an illusion rune, when i used the rune the game client stopped respnding and the process had to be closed after about 10 minutes of waiting.
Here I can see it supports my gpu but i dont know why not working.,

When using OpenGL if i switch the focus to another software in the monitor next to dota the game doesnt minimize wich is nice to keep checking if a match is ready, when using Vulkan as the renderer backend the game minimizes. This is using full screen on both.

I have installed the latest NVidia driver 368.22, Steam is in beta, Vulkan API is downloaded and -vulkan is set. However, I recieve the following after the game started: Failed to initialize Vulkan. Please make sure your driver and GPU support Vulkan.

Seems that the brightness is stuck at default (90%?) and moving the slider has no effect

Updated to crimson 16.5.3 and my graphics card is a Sapphire Toxic Radeon R9 270X 2 GB. I have followed the steps to install Vulcan support in Dota 2, as well as Steam Beta + Changed startup to -vulkan
While playing dota 2 the following blue appears after dying. Trees are blue, and there are artifacts forming all around the screen. Once respawned the blue and artifacts disappear.

Most people experience this line in vconsole:
Unable to open Vulkan pipeline cache shadercache\vulkan\shaders.cache file - might not exist yet.
However, after watching 10 games and playing a bot game with multiple restarts this line is always present, and navigating to the folder ..\Steam\SteamApps\common\dota 2 beta\game\dota\shadercache\vulkan reveals no contents.
Manually adding in a file named "shaders.cache" replaces the error with:
Vulkan shader pipeline cache file version is 0 instead of 1 for shadercache\vulkan\shaders.cache

So there is very visible framerate lag in the main menu and then ingame. However, the framerate displayed in the ingame counter and also steam overlay fps counter shows well over 90. But the game looks like it's running at 20fps, very choppy.
I'm running windows 10 64-bit version, i7 4720HQ 2.6GHz, geforce 970m with 3gb vram, and 8gb ram
I have a Phenom X6 1055T, Overclocked to 3.7GHz (no it doesn't overheat).
and a HD 7850 graphics card (16.5.3 drivers)
using timedemo_vprof on the "late" end of a replay (I don't know how to align the view on a busy part of the scene but the performance is still notably bad / worse while I was making the demo.

This noticeably puts the game under 40fps during teamfights, I'm definitely CPU bound.
My monitor setup is as follows:
Leftmost monitor (secondary): 1200x1980 (rotated 90deg) @ (0:0)
Rightmost monitor (primary; listed below): 2560x1440 (landscape) @ (1200, 250)
When starting the game, the DotA logo appears in the center of what I guess is the combined monitor geometry. In-game, the UI is limited to the left half(-ish) of the primary monitor and is scaled to fit, with black space to its right. Mouse movement is across the whole space, however, and hovers don't map properly to UI elements (that is, hovering somewhere in the top right region of the primary monitor, which is black space, will highlight the quit button in the middle of the screen).
