quark's Introduction

Quark

Small things. Learn more at the Mod's website.

This mod makes use of the Java Universal Tween Engine by Aurelien Ribon, licensed under the Apache 2.0 License.

Zeta?

Project Zeta is a planned rearchitecture of Quark to make it less tightly-integrated with Forge. Read the roadmap in Vazkii's post on the Violet Moon forums.

There is still lots to do! If you'd like to contribute, see zeta-todo/README.md

Release Process

Quark's release process is mostly automated. Here's the steps:

  1. Pull master so you're up to date, make sure everything is committed
  2. Run git tag -a release-<mc_version>-<build_number>. If you don't know or remember what those are, look at build.properties
  3. In the editor that pops up, write the changelog
  4. In build.properties, increment the build_number by one for the next version. Commit this.
  5. Push master and the release tag: git push origin master release-<mc_version>-<build_number>
  6. Shortly after, the mod should be automatically uploaded to GitHub's release tab, Modrinth, and CurseForge.

Signing

Releases are signed with the Violet Moon signing key, see this page for information about how to verify the artifacts.

quark's Issues

Management buttons breaking Tinkers GUIs

Looks like your UI stuff is a tad too intrusive. It looks like a button ID conflict too, since my stencil table buttons are offset by 3.

Broken recipes wich causes minecraft to crash when Inventory Tweaks is installed or when I go in the control parameters durring the game

Ok I post this crash here too because I think that Quark has a link with this crash. I get a serious crash when I try to launch minecraft with the last 1.9 version of Inventory Tweaks, TechReborn and Quark.
http://pastebin.com/U3mHZgSa

I noticed that when I create a new word, I get these errors. It doesn't make the game to crash, but I think it's the reason of why Inventory Tweaks crashes when it's installed. It seems that Quark and TechReborn add broken recipes.
http://pastebin.com/6bLwa8ga

In final I get a crash when I go in the command control when I'm playing into a word, but not when I'm in the menu, and I think that it's linked to the same problem.
http://pastebin.com/FALUi14a

I think that all these errors are linked. I informed the owners of TechReborn and Inventory Tweaks too. You should take contacts with them. I created an issue in the TechReborn github too.
TechReborn/TechReborn#553

This never happened

Is the required Forge version 12.16.0.1856 ?

I cant find forge 12.16.0.1856 and forge 12.16.0.1854 is needed and i only have your mod

Next time i we take a nap before creating issues on GH, terribly sorry

Some emotes hidden on GUI Scale Auto

With GUI Scale set to Auto, the top two emotes are hidden, and the next two are only partly on-screen. Monitor resolution is 1920x1080. Quark version beta-21, Forge 1937.

Here's what it looks like.

They are all visible if I change GUI scale, but smaller GUI scales aren't usable for me.

(feature request) the slate

I came with this idea since I saw it on a server and finded this idea really awesome. I wanted to suggest to add the slate to Quark, with the stairs and slabs. It's a block wich craft it with 4 flints and give an another utility to the flints. ;)

Feature Request: Unequip Shield

I really wish there was a keybind for unequipping the shield in 1.9. It gets in the way of building and using some other tools.

[1.9.4] Suggestion - add a crafting table that selects multiple reciepes

Serveral mods have tried this, but not done it very well (Ganys Surface wasn't bad). With so many modpacks, conflicting recipes is a fact of life. It would be really awesome to have a well coded crafting table that allowed the player to select among different outputs for the same recipe.

It would also be welcome to modpack and server owners not having to make up new reciepes.

Thank you for listening.

Regards

Building Brick Cross mod problem

Dirt slabs when turned back into (what is supposed to be Dirt) turns into (seemingly random) different things for me, I've gotten the 2 slab to a block to craft Podzol, Mycelium, and in my current play session, Coarse Dirt. And JEI doesn't say it turns into those either! It says the Dirt Slabs when turned back into Dirt (thanks to Quark), NOT any of the things I listed, even though it doesn't output it.

Quark-beta-16
BuildingBricks-1.9-1.4.8

Signs don't save

Latest Forge 1.9 and Quark, SSP.
Alongside mods: Botania, Psi, Mantle, TiCo, Blood Magic, JEI

Right clicking a sign and editing it are fine, but when you exit the GUI the console Server Thread logs an error about "Trying to edit uneditable sign". The change seems to persist in the client world.

Then when I reload the world (or leave chunk and come back) my changes are gone.

custom paintings

would custom paintings be doable with for example a resource pack or something along those lines?

Stackable Items Configuration [Suggestion]

First of all, I know github is where bug reports are supposed to go, but I wasn't sure about suggestions since I couldn't find any instructions on the website. If I'm posting this in the wrong place I am deeply sorry. 😢

So I've been playing with quark for a while now and I LOVE every single tweak and block added, however there is something that bothers me....about Vanilla! Food items such as rabbit stew, mushroom stew or beetroot soup are rather useless since they take up SO MUCH inventory space! I was wondering if it is not possible to make it so the player can add new items to the "stackable list" through a config file, even if the item gives you something back when used (such as stews and soups that give back the bowl) or if the item is modded.

Here is what I had in mind: http://prntscr.com/az6heh

Whether it is possible or not, I thank you in advance for your attention and time.

and @Vazkii ,keep up the good work 😜

[1.9.4-21] Haunting guardian sounds

So quark tries to summon a guardian in the ocean, and its beam ray sound loops and could be heard from a really long distance. Really annoying sound bug. Disabling the rare guardians in the config fixes it.

Also the sound won't stop on sp even though you are in the pause screen.

Also also the sound actually never stops, even in the main menu.

IMPORTANT MAJOR AND GENERAL BUG (1.9 and 1.9.4) : Catched unhandled exception java.lang.NullPointerException

IMPORTANT : THIS BUG IS GENERAL TO ALL THE MODS OF MINECRAFT 1.9 and 1.9.4

A strange bug happens when a tile entity is destroyed, Almost all the time an exception is thrown when the bug happens : Catched unhandled exception [name of the tile entity] java.lang.NullPointerException
For some particular blocks, Minecraft totally freezes and finished to crash with the error code -805306369 without any crash report. Here is the list of all the blocks wich are confirmed to provocate Minecraft to freeze and crashs with this error.

  • Building Brick : all the glass, ice and packed ice blocks
  • Deep Resonance : resonant crystal
  • Biomes O Plenty : celestial crystal
  • Botania : mana prism
  • Blood Arsenal : blood stained glass block and pane
  • Evilcraft : darktank
  • EnderIO : killer joe, zombie generator, all the fused quartz glasses
  • Random Things : lapis lamp, quartz lamp, rainbow lamp, biome glass, spectre block, fluid display

All these blocks follow the same error, only the name of the tile entity between the [ ] changes. Here is an example of how the error happens. The example is made with the resonant crystal of deep resonance. This is a full log and contains the launching of minecraft and the loading of a world, the moment where I brick the block and the bug happens is the moment where the exception [class com.hea3ven.buildingbricks.core.tileentity.TileMaterial] java.lang.NullPointerException is thrown : http://pastebin.com/KhwV1WKg

Moreover some tile entities wich has brokner provocates Minecraft to totally crash with a crash report. Here is the list of all the block concerned and their crash report

I let you know that all the tests possible has already been made before I create this general issue and post it. I already tried to :

  • Test the mod one by one only by installing them and forge without any other mods
  • Change of Forge Version
  • Change between the 1.9 and 1.9.4 version
  • Change of mod version
  • Play without optifine and any shaders
  • Switch between the creative and survival mode
Nothing of all that change anything, the bug still happens in the same way for the same blocks listed at the top.

I precise that almost all the mods in Minecraft 1.9.4 and 1.9 are touched by this bug, because even if they don't provocate Minecraft to freeze or crash, almost always at each time a tile entity is broken, the exception Catched unhandled exception [name of the tile entity] java.lang.NullPointerException is thrown.
I precise too that the list of all the tile entities listed at the top can be incomplete. I want you know that I tried to break block by block all the blocks of almost all the most popular mods on 1.9.4 and 1.9, so for summarizing something like 50 mods with more than 2000 blocks. So it's possible that I missed some blocks.
It's why I send this issue to all the mods even if no ones of their block are concerned by the bug.
I invite all the mod developpers to try by themselves to break all the tile entities of their mod for seeing they provocate the throwing of the exception, and maybe causes Minecraft to freeze.

Disabling the 'store to chests' tweak doesn't work

Forge Version: 12.16.0.1813
Quark Version: Beta 6
Description: When I set "Store to chests"=false in the config, the tweak still remains. I actually like using this tweak, however it is also triggered when I use certain buttons in 'JEI' and 'JourneyMap.' Unfortunately this throws a bunch of stuff in chests when I'm not intending to.

Wall Blocks & Torches

Version: quark-beta-18

The wall blocks added by Quark do not allow you to place torches on top of them like their vanilla counterparts.

[1.9.4] Suggestion: CraftGuide Book/UI

TLDR; Implement a UI similar to CraftGuide (http://goo.gl/v6N9iB) for viewing crafting recipes.

Problem: My son and I love playing minecraft together, and usually play on the Xbox One. I'd like to get a world setup for us on the PC so that we can use mods, but with all of the items that mods add, it makes it very difficult to remember how to craft certain items.

Solution: A crafting recipe book or ui that listed all craftable recipes for easy access would make the PC minecraft experience much more enjoyable for my son (8 yr. old). I do feel like it is something that could be added to vanilla minecraft (it is in the console version after all!), so it fits the theme of Quark. A solution for 1.7.10 exists (see above example), but it has not been updated to current Minecraft versions. I am also aware of NEI and JEI, but they really do not fit in with vanilla minecraft.

Ideas:

  • The config file would allow it to be a craftable book, or set as a hotkey.
  • The config would have an option to show item IDs, disabled by default.
  • It would NOT show non-craftable or creative only items.
  • It would have search functionality, allowing you to search for an item, and every item that the first item is an ingredient for.
  • Search functionality would also allow you to search for items based on the mod that added them; ie: Searching for quark would list all items/blocks added by Quark.
  • The UI would have a vanilla feel. Maybe you could use the vanilla creative mod interface, but instead of giving items when they are clicked, show the recipe for that item, and recipes for items that it is a part of? That way, you could take advantage of tabs that mods add to the creative interface. I don't know how you would detect & remove creative only items though.
  • It would show "recipes" for items created through means other than the crafting table, such as the furnace. ie: cooked fish would show a recipe indicating that you need to put raw fish in a furnace to get it.
  • It would not let usable items be used without crafting them. IE: if a mod added an item that detects incoming meteors like a compass, it would not function while viewing the item in the crafting guide.

Nearby Inventory Sorting not working

Issue

The button in your inventory to sort to nearby chests, does not work. Once I click it, it does nothing, then when I close and re-open my inventory, it's gone.
