What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.start app on phone

4.app on phone force closes

a working connection, mine disconnects after force closing the app (forced,
cannot choose not to..)
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest version of desktopsms, on g1. Rooted and running latest SuperD ROM
with ramhack(hardspl, and 2.22.23.02 radio). PC is win 7 x64.
Please provide any additional information below.
if i don't start the app on phone first it wont work at all.
Funny thing is that if I don't tap the force-close button in 'stopped
responding' message on phone it works fine.
I know for sure that my pc drivers are working ok, I dev apps for android too.
If you want I can look over your code and debug it for a bit, just give me
a nudge! :) If you want anything else from me (log or whatever), let me know.

On the client side (PC), it should be nice to have a CLI mode for scripting
or whatever you can imagine.
For example :
«./desktopSMS connect» connects to the server
«./desktopSMS contacts» returns the contact list
«./desktopSMS send mycontact "my message"» send a SMS to mycontact
«...»

Expecting time to match my time zone, however it's a few hours off (only on
received sms)... Yet the sms on phone still is correct, but the one on desktop
client isn't.

1. Send SMS with 1 second between each
2. Look the console

The SMS is delivered before the "sent" notification.
This cause that the delivery icon is not hidden.

If MainGUI.jar is signed, it can be launched using Java(TM) Web Start Launcher.
See an example of a JNLP file @

I would like to include a way to launch this tool from Droid Explorer
(http://de.codeplex.com/) and using the JNLP file would be best because
then I can always ensure the user is launching the latest version. I can
pull the APK and push it to the Android Device before launching, so they
will have the latest version of that too.

I noticed the desktop software would disconnect and i would have to
reconnect often. Watching the screen i noticed one i recieved a text on the
phone and it buzzed, it would disconnect the software on the desktop.
Using 1.5 rooted. Handcent software as my SMS client on the phone. Latest
desktop sms software.
Any suggestions are more than welcome, i love this software!

When I start up desktopsms client, I get a blank window, and the the
program hangs there.
The output is:
java -jar MainGUI.jar

The adb program is in the path. I am using the current version of DesktopSMS.

1.I'm using a droid.
2.Connecting through usb or wireless. (both have the same issue)
3.Send a message to your phone from another phone.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The message should show up on my computer but instead it just disconnects
and I have to reconnect it. I completely wiped my phone and tried again
with the same result.

I'm using the newest version of the program on Android 2.01.

If I write a SMS I can't see how many letters are left until it will become
2 or 3 SMSs. Please add this feature and make this App more stable, you'll

The app on the phone randomly force close every now and then, without any
particular reason. It can manually be restarted right afterwards, but it
would be great if you could avoid the FC!
Other question: which is the exact name of the app on android market? I
haven't been able to find it there.

Expect text to send, but it doesn't. Can see the text on my phone, have to
click it and then forward it to contact to send it. Also causes disconnect

I get a small Mail icon with an "i" on it. When I check the status of the text

DesktopSMS don't connect to my Magic in USB (not tested in WiFi) under
