Given how large modern USB thumbdrives have gotten lately (and how large modern software has gotten too), having persistence files of only up to 4 GB available is quite low in 2023.
Would it be possible to add persistence files for 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB to the persistence data? Thanks in advance 🙂
可以用btrfs吗,以及可以使用透明压缩吗

Or I'm wrong..?? If yes, sorry..!!
Thanks in advance..!!
I checked the secure boot option on the setup app and i see the lock icon on the ventoy created file.
however, after assigning a key for the secure boot for the USB, the ventoy page is shown to choose the desired distro. however, it does not work for the following distroes:
Kali, Ubunto, PopOs (all latest versions)
I also checked with Fedora 36 and it works for this distro only if the test and run option is selected. there is an option at the start of the bootup, where it can be chosen to test the media first and then run the linux.
It does not work if the test is skipped
the error shown is : first boot the kernel
use casper-rw
or persistence
for rescuezilla-2.2-64bit.hirsute.iso?
Hi,
Firstly, thank you so much by your amazing tool..!!
Sorry my bad english, I'm from Brazil..!!
I tryed to use Ventoy Persistence Plugin but I get the Black Screen after I choose persistence_ext4_4GB_vtoycow.dat or persistence_xfs_4GB_vtoycow.dat.
Both .dat files are persistence folder.
I did like this.
Or
After I choose F33 Work, I get the Black Screen below..!!

Coul'd I be doing something wrong..??
Thanks in advance..!!
I imagine there is some future plan to set up the usb drive in GPT instead of MBR, but in the meantime I tried setting it up manually.
This is how I did it:
Now I know I need to extract the core or boot img (not sure which). I just don't know where. Just to make sure that the steps I've taken already were right I booted into my usb and manually told the grub where to load, and it worked perfectly.
Can anyone tell me how can I make the grub find the right partition automatically? What to extract and where?
ventoy version: 1.0.79
I followed each step on the website for the persistence plugin, however after disabling secure boot in bios and booting up with any of the supported distros, (Kali, Ubunto, Fedora) (each latest version on the time of issue opening), the persistence does not work and after rebooting, all of my data is lost
I have tried with both custom persistence .dat file and prebuilt one.
persistence plugin was used to create the ventoy.json file, so the spelling and destinations are checked and it is as follows:
{
"persistence":[
{
"image": "/ISO/kali-linux-2022.1-live-amd64.iso",
"backend":[
"/persistence/persistence_xfs_4GB_persistence.dat"
]
}
]
}
as title
thanks
Ok I've got persistence_ext4_1GB_casper-rw.img and a bunch of iso files on the first partition of my flashdrive. I see a bunch of files on the 2nd partition. I can't tell if the .json file I create is supposed to be on the first or the 2nd partition.
