How it works!

• Download the extension.
• Click on extension popup and enable it.
• Reload the gmail window, if opened already.
• Now open any conversation and click "Reply".
• Write your reply and click Send.
• It also take care of signatures and keep them intact.

Does not function

I'm running Chrome on Win 10 1909. UnQuote does not remove the quoted email in my replies.
I have rebooted, stopped and restarted Windows all to no avail.

An idea for you

Hi,

Some time ago, Gmail had a great function where you would highlight text in an e-mail before replying and only the text that was highlighted would be pasted into the reply automatically.

Rather than have to keep turning the switch on and off to activate or deactivate your extension, do you think it might be useful to replicate the way that Gmail used to work if your extension is set to off ? That way nothing will be included in a reply other than what is highlighted for pasting.

Doesn't work for 'Reply to All'

Hi,

This extension has a lot potential and could save me a lot of trouble. It does not seem to work when replying to all though. I have tested it out using the reply button, but cannot get it to work with the reply to all email type. Thank you!

Unquote reply starts new thread with the same email title

Hi,
I am getting complaints that my replys are not staying in the same thread rather starting a new thread every time. I believe this is a new issue since i just started getting complaints.

I find that if the other person replies and includes earlier communications (threads) that Unquote does not work.
It only seems to work on "virgin" replies.

I downloaded the extension but it looks like it's not working anymore.
because after sending an email when I check the quoted text is still in the email.

Typo in app/cs/cs.js

Hi,

This is a nifty extension to have and I like it.I can see that their is a typo in the cs.js file as the folllowing

window.removeEventListener("haschange", onHashChange)

I was getting some errors in chrome console due to this. I fixed it to the following

window.removeEventListener("hashchange", onHashChange)

And the errors are gone for good.

Nevertheless,its a cool app for sure.

Not working Chrome v58.0.3029.8158.0.3029.81

Using Google Chrome v58.0.3029.81

It simply does not work in any capacity. I press reply, and everything is still there.

No working with new Gmail view

This morning my gmail was force to use the new view appearance and the back to classic view was removed from the gear menu, since then the add-on stop doing its magic, yesterday was fine working perfectly!

I use OSX 10.10 yosemite. Chrome Versión 69.0.3497.100 (Build oficial) (64 bits), if you need more data let me know.

I really love your add-on, works perfectly and time saver, please let me know if you've found a way to make it work again, thanks!!!

Doesn't seem to work as of 2023-12-06

I tried enabling and disabling the extension, reinstalling it, and reloading the Gmail page.

It worked a few times, but does not anymore.

May it be because of some race conditions?

Not working with current GMail and/or Chromium

It doesn't work for me. I tried several times.

I disabled all other Chromium extensions, except for Unquote for GMail:

Since I use many GMail Labs, I run with and without them: https://mail.google.com/mail and https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?labs=0. No difference.

Whether i hit "Reply" or "Reply to all" button, or the reply icon, or an image of three three vertical dots > dropdown menu > "Reply" or "Reply to all":

it always comes with the quote in the new draft: a picture of three horizontal dots that has mousover "Show trimmed content".

My Linux (Manjaro/Arch) doesn't currently let me run both Chromium and Google Chrome, I'm investigating. Could you clarify/advise in the meantime, please.

Feature suggestion: Start with the extension enabled

A common issue for many people seem to be a lack of reading comprehension, and thus they don't realize that they need to enable it. Why not stop these issues by starting with it enabled by default?

Sorry if this isn't feasible, I'm not familiar with js.
