Am I running into another issue then? I just figured it would be connected to 2FA because the issue started to happen right after I activated it.

Do you use password or token for GitHub authorization?
Could you please try creating a token in GitHub UI and configure it via ghGitSourceUsername(GitHub login) / ghGitSourcePassword (GitHub token)

Using the token works. Thank you very much. Maybe this is worth mentioning in the documentation for the stage-vote-release plugin. From the name of the property I wouldn't have guessed that one could pass the token as the password.

You are right, it makes sense to advertise token as the primary configuration parameter
