🔍 Overview

Please describe your solution idea by the following structure:

  • Short description of the solution you suggest

Certificado Protocol is a service for storing and validating any type of documents. Currently it's implemented for online schools in order to issue certificates for students based on Waves blockchain. The team is working on making Certificado suitable for any type of enterprises certification and more impactful on EdTech especially.

  • How does it solve the specified problem?

Certificado provides a tooling for running decentralised certification processes in any enterprise. In EdTech case this means that online schools can connect Certificado with its Telegram Bot or Web interface and certification service via one request and start issuing certificates for the students. These certificates are used by students to prove their skills to HRs which is good for online school's brand, too.

  • How you will integrate this project into Waves / Gravity / Neutrino.

Certificado is using Waves Protocol and its tools (API, Keeper, Signer, Explorer) as a service for decentralized data storage and secure encrypting tooling.

Certificado Cross-chain Wallet (Milestone #3) will use Gravity Protocol as a bridge to other networks, such as Eethereum and BSC, to connect differeent credentials from external providers.

Neutrino with its stablecoins can be used by clients to provide payments in $USDN.

  • Why your team is interested in creating this project.

It all began, when I first met the problem of certificates forgery being a student. A huge mass of my school mates cheated their certificates from Coursera to get higher grades in the university. And later, I found out that some people are drawing the Higher School certificates to get a better job. In Certificado we believe that this is why education becomes less valuable each year.

Moreover, we see that processes of certification are not set well in many enterprises. We build this product in order to provide a tool that could be used in any busineess model to make it more efficient.

  • What is the target audience of the final solution?

Enterprises (EdTech, HR, industrial establishments, …) who are benefited with integrating transparent and secure certification processes.

  • What is the “secret sauce” of it?

That's for sure the balance between secure technology and simple User Experience. We aim to design a product in the way to make it easy to use for everyone, not only "crypto geeks". Look, how simple is a process for getting a certificate for students:

  • What is the duration of the whole project?

Project was started in Nov 2019 when I first presented the functionality of Certificado to Waves Workshop participants in Madrid. Since that time, me and co-founder Vitaly worked a lot on Certificado as a b2b-service and even found 5 paying clients (online schools). In Sep 2020 we started integrating Certificado with non-educational businesses. First case was a certification of art and a certification of soft-skills for The Netherlands Police presented in Nov 2020. We plan to develop Certificado as a startup with a classic venture model to create a sustainable business that can be alive forever.

  • Resources required to implement the grant task

Granting for product development and brand marketing. Advisory support from Waves Node and DevRel teams. Marketing support. PR support.

Ecosystem Fit

Are there any other projects similar to yours? If so, how is your project different?

There is a couple of competitive projects in Ethereum and BSC chains, such as V-ID Chain. Currently Cerificado's advantage is the simplest User Experience - online schools can get an integration in 4 hours after request, while it takes less than 6 seconds for students to issue a certificate using Telegram bot.

In future, the team is going to release a Certificado Cross-chain Wallet that would connect all the certificates providers from different chains, so our goal is not to compete with these projects, but to collaborate in order to boost Web 3.0 adoption.

🔩 Development Roadmap

This section should break out the development roadmap into a number of milestones. It helps to describe the functionality we should expect, plus how we can check that such functionality exists in the product. Whenever milestones are delivered, we refer to the roadmap to ensure that everything has been delivered as expected.

In the following we see 3 stages for Certificado development:

Step #1: Certificado Service

  • Automatization of Certificado Edu b2b-service ($15000)
  • Pilot for Certificado Protocol in non-education field ($20000)
  • Product package ($3000)
  • Attraction new EdTech clients ($3000)

It all began, when I first met the problem of certificates forgery when I was a student. A huge mass of students cheated their certificates from Coursera to get higher grades in the university. And later, I found out that some people are drawing the Higher School certificates to get a better job. In Certificado we believe that this is why education becomes less valuable each year.

First case was a certification of art and a certification of soft-skills of citizens presented in Nov 2020. We plan to develop Certificado as a startup with a classic venture model to create a sustainable business that can be alive forever.

  • Resources required to implement the grant task

Advisory support from Waves Node and DevRel teams. Marketing support. PR support.

Ecosystem Fit

Are there any other projects similar to yours? If so, how is your project different?

There is a couple of competitive projects in Ethereum and BSC chains, such as V-ID Chain. Cyrrently Cerificado's advantage is the simplest User Experience - online schools can get an integration in 4 hours after request, while it takes less than 6 seconds for students to issue a certificate using Telegram bot.

In future, the team is going to release a Certificado Cross-chain Wallet that would connect all the certificatese providers from different chains, so our goal is not to compete with these projects, but to collaborate in order to boost Web 3.0 adoption.
