ValueError: No variables to save

Hi, I encountered with "ValueError: No variables to save".

Where to drop in?

Thank you for making the module for saving the best checkpoint. I am sorry but I am not sure where to drop this in. I have been reading the code for tensorflow research/object_detection repo, but couldn't find a good location. I am training and SSD object detection graph. I appreciate any pointers. Thank you!

Description in the parameterof 'get_best_checkpoint' is defferent in README and 'checkmate.py'

In the Readme:
saver.restore(sess, checkmate.get_best_checkpoint(best_checkpoint_dir, maximize=True))

there is no 'maximize' in the 'get_best_checkpoint'

global_step_tensor value

Hey @vonclites, Thanks for sharing your code.

I am trying to use your code inside of my model to save the best checkpoint according to my validation accuracy but getting an error related to global_step_tensor value. I am curious what should be the value of global_step_tensor in below line?

best_ckpt_saver.handle(accuracy, sess, global_step_tensor)
