FileNotFoundError handling

When the local file is not present you get a FileNotFoundError.

Use a try ... except clause to handle the error.

Rename the my_version and new_version functions

the my_version and new_versions functions could be renamed to:

• local_version
• remote_version

It didn't handle this very well

Trying the program on the Mac mini didn't correctly install a new version. See shell output:

Use the re module to find the version number

Try to use the re module to find the version numbers in the files.

Install function

Write a simple unsophisticated install function that installs the remote version.

Handle error for when the request package is not installed

Write a test case for the version number bug

This issue with the version numbers could have been tested beforehand.
Write a test for this.

Push version numbers into a list or a dict

The value that is returned from the my_version and new_version functions could be put into a data structure like a tuple, list or dict for easy retrieval by other functions.

Write a function that compares the versions

Write a function that compares the local and remote versions.

Add docstrings to functions

Some functions don't have docstrings.

Make it work for external users

Convert the absolute paths particular to my system to work on other systems with different user names.
