[FEATURE] Open the new tab in a window unique to the current virtual desktop

Proposed Solution

First, thanks for making this application. I see this as essential behavior, supported by default in all modern browsers. I think it should have already been supported in Windows 11.

Currently, if using multiple virtual desktops, when opening a new explorer instance, it will open a new tab in an existing explorer instance at any virtual desktop.

This makes it difficult to work with multiple virtual desktops since only one desktop can contain an explorer window. Currently it requires switching back and forth between the desktops to gain access to the explorer window, which isn't very productive.

The Windows 11 Terminal provides an option to handle this issue by attaching to the most recently used window on the current desktop. So every desktop has its own single Terminal window including its own unique set of tabs:

I find that option very useful and convenient and it has really improved my productivity working with multiple terminals and virtual desktops.

Workaround

Just realized a workaround. It's possible to set file explorer to appear on all virtual desktops. This option can be accessed by right clicking the explorer window in the desktop switching screen:

This means that all file explorer tabs will be shown across all desktops, in a single shared window. It doesn't really provide the feature described here, but makes it more practical to work with multiple desktops.

Edit: added new workaround I found

Win + E works, but it can't merge new windows when presssing Show in folder

I've turned on all three options in the menu. Does it support win11? But this program really helps me a lot!

User sets a default path for new tab to open when Win+E is pressed. If default folder is deleted is should go to home.

[BUG] Special characters in username break folder path from the desktop

Describe your issue:

My username was "Zé Mané" with accents and file explorer would not find any desktop folder I'd try to open, displaying the username as "Z%E9 Man%E9" on the path.
I've managed to change my username folder and the app is working properly now (not easy https://www.elevenforum.com/t/change-name-of-user-profile-folder-in-windows-11.2133/).
Maybe add support for special characters? : )

[BUG] Can't open the recycle bin when any folder is already open

If no windows explorer is open, then when I click on the recycle bin icon on the desktop the recycle bin opens, but when any windows explorer already exists then when I click on the recycle bin icon a new tab with "this pc" (or "home" depending on the settings in the system) opens.

[BUG] When opening the second file explorer instance from a shortcut, a dropdown often appears

Describe your issue:

When a new tab is added due to opening a shortcut, a drop down menu for the explorer path (address bar) appears, usually when the second tab for the window is opened:

The dropdown doesn't usually appear on subsequent instances opened.

Closing the dropdown usually requires clicking on the tab handle, otherwise it doesn't disappear, which is a bit annoying.

To reproduce, try to close the explorer window, and then open two new instances from shortcuts, one after the other. It usually appears on the second instance opened.

UI tweaks cause some conflict with the utility. | StartAllBack
