Main Search Input Styles

I would use next styles for input:

header input {
    -webkit-appearance: none;
}
header input::placeholder{
    color: #fff;
}

At the moment grey placeholder text is hard to read on dark background and -webkit-appearance: searchfield; in Safari makes the input having white background, so typed white text is not visible.

Improve auto-tagging

• Uncle Bob videos are not correct (decided to handle using community motivation & leaderboard)
• Videos that with texts containing ".net" (e.g. slideshare.net) are automatically tagged [.net]

Filter by language (english, french, ...)

Add new filter category : Language (English, French, ...).

Create night mode style

Implement tag hard linking (e.g. dev.tube/tab/.net)

Allow for multiple speakers

Sometimes there are several people talking during a keynote.

In the following example Rebecca Parsons is not visible until you read the description of the video.

Add support for channel name aliases/translations

For non-European technical videos (Chinese, Arabic etc.) we may need to have an alias describing channel name.

We started receiving PR-s with code significantly re-formatted. Need to define and enforce style guide, as well as reformat the existing code.

New design wireframe concept

Hi, there,
I really like the concept for DevTube, but the design is a little bit cluttered and unintuitive. I feel like it shows too much irrelevant information to the user, rather than content they could watch. Here's a simple wireframe concept I put together that can help.

This design consolidates and minifies the toolbar and sidebar, making room for more videos, and gets rid of the irrelevant "recorded" and "likes" metadata. It also gets rid of the toggle at the top right for different filter methods, and instead, moves it to the sidebar. I hope this helps.

I should be able to authenticate myself and have my history and “watch later” videos available from any device, so that I don’t lose that data.

When dev searches for a video, navigates to it and then comes back, the query is lost. Let's remember the query.

Channel Name

Dear Team,

I am reaching out in regard to an issue for our channel, which we created yesterday.

Is it possible to replace the EPAM Bulgaria tag with Tech Talks Bulgaria? We wanted to name the channel Tech Talks Bulgaria because we don’t want to associate the Tech Talks brand with the company. Tech Talks in an entirely free knowledge-sharing initiative, which gathers professionals from EPAM as well as many other companies.

Please let me know, if we can change the tag to Tech Talks Bulgaria.

Do not display Channel, Speaker, Tags etc in all Caps

Is this me or anyone else also who does not like all caps letters in Channel, Speaker, Tags etc info. Can we change it to make only the first letter caps. I think it would be more visually aesthetic.

Duration counter issue

Duration counter is +1 higher than it is.

Results showing 1 video less than it supports

When showing the results, the page can show one more video but it doesnt appear:

Sort videos by recorded date or duration

Can someone add functionality to sort videos based on the recorded date or the duration of the video.

Mandate video preview size on all devices, including mobile

On mobile, move satisfaction/view/duration/recorded details to the left and half on the right instead of just listing them vertically and gain back 100 pixels per video tile.

Add sorting by views.

Make it PWA

I think there is a certainty in your description regarding the web app just because one of the web app features is: Installable - Allows users to "save" the most useful applications on their home screens without having to access an app store. So lacking a manifest.json and one other thing is: Independent connectivity - Enhanced with service workers to work offline or on low-quality networks. That can be used a tool called Workbox.

Filter by less popular Tags which are not visible on the side filter

I should be able to expand the Tags list to see more Tags than just top ones, so that I can find the less popular tags like”Ruby”.

Workaround is to search video by text and then click on the Tag, and then clear the search text.

Or maybe the Search could suggest filtering by the Tag?

List sorting after check

Hello,
thanks for good project!

While using it, I found that filter list in left side of page is being sorted to send checked item at top. In my case it looks bit fuzzy...
How do you think about keep the position of the list after checked?

Searching by text and tag

Would be nice to have a possibility to search by full text when we click on some tag.
For now, DevTube is only able to filter by tag, hiding the search box. The feature to search by full text together with a tag, in my opinion, is important for performance improvement and as a user, we can see a reduced list of result.
