Hi,

Actually it should work, and I'm using it right now.
You can run manually mpDris2 -d to check if there is any traceback. Check also .xsession-errors for gnome-shell traceback

Ah got it - when I tested this, I had played a stream (web radio http mp3, length not available) with Sonata earlier. This seems to break the progress bar for subsequent (local) playback until reloading gnome shell or mpDris2.
And it got me confused about uncommenting rate properties, which does not have anything to do with this.

P.S.: I aimed for "edit comment" but somehow hit "reopen"...
