Gmusicbrowser 1.1.9

I can confirm that it freezes the whole desktop when the notify plugin is on.

No idea why though...

the bug is still present in the last version available on the gnome extension site.

Same here with audacious 3.2.2. The system freezes for about 25 secs when this extension is enabled and a song is continued when starting audacious. Using Ubuntu 12.04 with Gnome Shell (3.4) from official repository.

updated the extension today, still not compatible with gmusicbrowser wich angs at start. That cause Gnome shell freezes during a moment.

The freezing only occurs, when a song is continued at start-up of audacious...

I recall seeing same "hanging" behaviour with quodlibet too at some occasions.

And problem are blocking dbus calls – deadlock occurs (player locks itself and plugin locks gnome-shell) until one of calls times out.

I haven't investigated further, nor I can reproduce it now, so can't give more details.

I've tried to debug a little more for the initial issue with gmusicbrowser. So I can confirm that the problem comes from blocking dbus calls. gmusicbrowser seems to hang (actually the whole shell hang) when my extension tries to get some info or try to run some dbus method, but only when the notify plugin is enabled.

Tried to reproduce issues with audacious or quodlibet without success.

The same issue persists with audacious 3.3 too.

The system freezes for 20-25 seconds, but you can hear the sound, when audacious is opened.

This also happens if you are opening a file with audacious from nautilus - it starts to play, but the gnome-shell is frozen for 20-20 seconds :/

When the notify.so plug-in in audacious is disabled, it works fine though.

Same applies for gMusicBrowser. If I disable the Notify plugin (or autoplay at startup) everything works.
