Connect a group to an Event

On wechange there are two typs of Projects:

1. Initiative-Projects like Transition-Town Mannheim https://wechange.de/project/transition-town-mannheim/ they are a team or even have a legal structure
2. Casual-Projects, connected to events, like Hackathon: https://wechange.de/project/hackathon-in-belarus-11-18-of-august-2/ They are just a group for a certain time of people who just met, but do not want/intend to work together as a fixed project The Organising body/legal structure, mostly has an own Project/Group like https://wechange.de/project/aa-mapa/ The event for the hackahton Group would be: https://wechange.de/project/hackathon-in-belarus-11-18-of-august-2/event/hackathon/

That means, we could people give the possibility, to create a project inside an event. The Project-Description would be the same as the event description. People who say "Participate" will automatically send and join-request to the group. (If it is not accepted, they stay as "Followers" for the event.) Events, which you create inside of such an event-project, will be sub-events to the initial one. (1planet4all.net proposed to introduce sub-events on wechange, so that i.e. each workshop at the Climatecamp can be added to the climatecamp-event.

For kvm/goodDB would this be an very nice feature, because we know, that we do not need to show such a group, which is basically an event. So it will give the user a new feature, will help users to find to connecting group for a certain event and will help good-db clients to know, what it is about.

A project like "we organize a birthday party" should also not be regarded as an "Initiative".

Nextcloud in wechange integration

• Why is Nextcloud needed in wechange
• How it can be integrated

Reasons for integration

• Users need to have certain files of their project offline to easily work with (open and save locally), or because there is no internet connection during a hackathon or a conference.
• You can not search for files.
• The file system is only made for few important things but not as data archive.
• Etherpads unfortunately are not stored in the file system and can not even be linked from folders.
• Users accept to be chard of having onlline-storage. So that could be a financial model for wechange. The first 200 MB should be free for each user/each project

How to integrate nextcloud

• The folders stay as they are, but are linked to a nextcloud in the back. All sharing-options, which you have on the nextcloud-interface are directly availiable form the wechange files.

• All Projectmembers have direct access to the nextcloud. They can install the nextcloud client, give in their wechange-login-credentials and then can choose, which folders they want to have locally synced.

• In their Nextcloud, users have on the first level a folder for each project and each group.

• Project-Folders are not inside of their corresponding groups but on the first level. So that if you move a project to another group, the local folder-order does not change.

• There will be no pad anymore, but we use the only-office-function of nextcloud, where files are stored directly in the folders.

• Each Project calendar will be availiable in nextcloud too and can be synct to thunderbird or moblie via the caldav format.

• sharing of events should be possible over all group- and Projectborders. (Not as now, where you can just share events from a group to their sub-projects)

• Nextcloud allows the import of calendars. Where could that calendar be shown? How does the user define, in which of his/her Projects, he/she wants to show the imported events?

• All Usermanagement form Nextcloud will be replaced by the usermanagement in the wechange group. (No Group-Admins in nextcloud needed. Nobody can share files insied nextcloud with other nextcloud-users. Just she public sharing link can be used.)
