celestronespwifi's Issues

RJ12 Diagram has incorrect wiring (backwards).

The wiring diagram shows pins 1-4 used on the RJ12 connector. This appears to be backwards. The correct pin for Vcc is on pin 3 and Ground is Pin 5.

Please note, I haven't got my scope to connect yet so I cannot confirm the correct pins for Rx/Tx -- but for sure these should be shifted to Pins 6 and 4.

This is how I currently have mine wired up:

I may not need the level-shifter here, but I did it just to be safe on the Tx line to the scope. Rx is level shifted on the MCU breakout I am using. Also the LM2596 is not the actual power regulator I am using... it's just a placeholder in Fritzing.

Controls problem

I made your project with a wemos d1 mini. Compared to the original scheme I only removed the resistance and the shot on EN pin.

Connection with SkyPortal or SkySafari works well but the up / down / right / left controls, that move the telescope, doesn't. Sometimes they get stuck or stay in motion.

I was having a doubt. Could it be the diodes? I have mounted two IN4148. They are correct?

Thank you!

Note I have a Celestron Nexstar 5 STL

NexStar 6SE not responding

Hi, Thanks so much for your project! Perfect timing as I just got a 6SE and am looking to remote control it. i've Done the exact setup you have, except using a WEMOS D1 mini. I flashed the code onto the MCU and connect to it on my phone with the Skyportal App, However when I click connect i get a timeout of 3x "TCP: 3B 03 20 10 FE CF" and the app says the telescope isn't responding. Ive setup the variables as:

int RTSPin = 2 (GPIO2 -> Select)
int UartTXPin = 4 (GPIO4 -> Serial Send)
int UartRXPin = 5 (GPIO5 -> Serial Receive)

i know the RX & TX are the right way (same as your diagram).

Any Ideas?

Nexstar keypad, AP mode and pull up

Tested on nodemcu v3, unfortunately at the moment I don't have the telescope yet but the module is detected on the skyportal app in direct connect mode, I was wondering if it will also work in access point mode and if in the future there will be a way to be able to use it even with nexstar keypad connected even if from what I have read around, the nexstar keypad does not work even with the original wifi module.

Thanks for the project!
