mapmill's Issues

Provide a URL directly to an image

It would be nice to bookmark and share a particular image to ask a question or if some other particularly interesting or important aspect of the image should be brought to the attention of the community.

This would be straight-forward to update the anchor of the URI with the reference to an image. On initial page load instead of the controller getting the image the Javascript would determine if there was an Anchor link to an image. It would then make a request to the image endpoint as a JSON request with this reference and would get a JSON structure with the image data. Then update the page elements and embed the image. If there is not image, then fetch a random from the server.

Feature: login and tracking results

Would you consider in the future a login feature for over zealous folks to do these things?

Purpose:
Tracking unique viewers to measure accuracy by user. I wouldn't mind learning how to improve and compare assessments.

Zoom and scroll

The image viewer screens could be improved with greater zoom and scroll capacity. This way we can see the shore line and damage to better aid in the crowdsource assessement

Allow "no vote"

A bunch of the imagery that I looked at was taken at such long range that it was impossible to tell what the extent of the damage was, if any. For cases like this, it'd be good to have a "can't tell" vote or similar way of abstaining, so that the voting isn't arbitrarily skewed towards the undamaged end of the scale.

I also think there should always be a way to report a problem ie a way of saying missing/corrupt/bad image.

Feature: Commenting

provide the ability to comment on the image with more details of analysis and/or questions

The benefit would be able to have tiered users in the future to help assess the imagery sets
